My Hubby's First Dance

When it comes to dancing in front of the crowd, my husband would be the last person to do it. He refuses to dance because according to him he doesn’t know how to do it. I remembered the time during his college days where he would prefer to be given a failing grade in his P.E. class rather than dancing in front of his classmates. You can only see him dance in the bedroom, in the bathroom or any secret place where nobody can see him. If there’s one person that he will allow to witness his dance, then that would be me.

But during our church anniversary, all men are required to dance for that event. I was afraid he will refuse to join the dance. To my surprise… he said YES… This will be his first dance in front of the crowd. He joined the practices and he didn’t even bothered that his dance steps were not perfect. He even did not worry the church members who were watching and laughing because they really look funny with their dance steps.
(the person at the center with a long hair wearing a black watch is my hubby..)

During the anniversary, I did not see any anxious feelings on his face. He felt relaxed and excited. When their turn was called he started smiling until the dance ended. Many people loved their dance. His first dance was great because he did this not for men but for the glory of God. He may not be a good dancer, but I believe the Lord was pleased of that dance. Congrats to you my hubby!

Friendship

I will be having character education lesson for high school students today. The topic we will be discussing is all about friendship. Part of their activity today is, I will let them describe their best friends.. But before they do that , I will have to describe my best friend first... :)

This is my best friend Laureen. She's my aunt but our relationship is more than that. We can share our happiness, joys, pains, problems and anything under the sun. She's a person who is usually misinterpreted by others.... But she's a person who is really genuine to her intentions and expressions of friendship and love. I thank God for she's really a blessing to me.

FRIENDS

Friends are given by God above

And many come into our life through the years,

They help brighten our day with words they say,

And are always there to share our joy and tears.

A friend loves at all times,

As they try to see the very best,

A friend will be beside you to comfort your heart,

In good times or in life's many tests.

Friends bring joy and laughter

As they share right from the heart,

And a true friend will help you get back up,

If you fall and need a brand new start.

Friends are a joy when God's love they share

Sent by God and they show how much they care,

Our Lord came as a friend and on Him we can depend,

He will take our cares and all our burdens He will bear.

Umbrella

Everytime I go out of the house, I couldn't fail to hear my husband reminding me to bring an umbrella.... because of the the heat of the sun or the idea that it might rain. Sad thing is, I don't bring any becuase the one we have is too big and heavy to bring along. I only tell him.. It's okay, don't worry it's not too hot outside".. or sometimes "Don't worry it will not rain today.." But, there are times that all my reckonings are wrong. That is why, last Sunday (Feb.16) my husband bought me a small folding-style umbrella. He wanted to buy the smallest one, but I refused because it's so expensive.. I just go for the cheaper one. Now, that I have a new umbrella, I always make it sure that I have it on my bag because I don't have any reason anymore of not bringing it...

Anyways... thinking how it is to be shielded from the heat of he sun, or from the rain, the umbrella reminded me of God's tender loving care. I am reminded that God nevers fail to love me and protect me from all the things that might harm my way. God wanted to love us and protect us all the time, but sometimes we fail and forget to allow Him to do that in our lives. Same with forgetting to bring the umbrella ... :)

This new umbrella of mine may not be too expensive, but it has significant meaning to me. Everytime I open it, I thank God for His love and protection in my life.

Life of a Student

It’s raining very hard today…. I chose not to go out of the house because of the heavy rain but I am reminded of my Professional. Education class at 5:30pm. I decided not to attend my class but I remembered that our teacher will give us an exam. Even though it’s very uneasy to go to school but I left with no choice but to go. While I was on my way to school, I keep on wishing at the back of mind.. “Oh, I hope we don’t have class today… I hope the teacher will not give us an exam, the things like that…” At the same time, as I was entering the school I saw many students coming out, but none of them were my classmates. I looked at the wall clock of the school and it’s already 5:45pm, and it then gave me the idea that the class is already starting. As I was approaching our classroom, I saw my classmates sitting outside. My heart jumped, not because of the exam but because of the assumption that we don’t have class. I asked my classmates… “Why are you here?” somebody answered “our teacher is on leave today, that means we don’ have class!” “, “Come again?” one classmate asked… “Yes, We DON’T HAVE CLASS” All my classmates were shouting and clapping hands like kids because of the news.
My ProfEd Class is a class for graduates who take up education units. Meaning to say, most of us enrolled in this class are already matured individuals. It’s very unusual to think that matured individuals like us, are still excited for a NO CLASS news.. There is this somebody who told me, “why did you enrolled in that class and yet you are hoping that you will have no class”… he..he.he.he ….. I don’t have any answer to that but I guess this is part of the life of being a student.
...I believe you can relate to this...

Want to Beat Stress? LOVE EXTRAVAGANTLY!

Happy Valentines Day to everyone! Since it is Valentines Day, I would like to share this thought I got from the book I read two years ago…Here is the complete phrase for you to read…

Keeping records of any kind can be a stressful job, but with love, it can be deadly--- especially to a relationship. Here are ways to express your love extravagantly:
a. Love extravagantly by giving more love. The more love you give away,
the more you will have.
b. Love those who aren’t in a position to return it.
c. Give in secret
d. Volunteer
e. Pamper your spouse or a friend without expectations
of the favor being returned.

All these are stress reliever that has benefits not only for you but also for everyone.
Try it!... :)

LOVE IS BLIND???

Part of my schedule every Wednesday is to go to Oro Massage Center (one of the best massage center in our city). I don’t go for any massage here, but to give character education to the masseurs. It isn’t an easy thing to do, since I will be dealing with blind masseurs. In teaching them, I will have to be very creative and see to it that they really get the whole picture of what I am talking about.

Yesterday, our topic was about the character LOVE. I was so excited to teach them the topic since all them are so delighted to hear what the topic is all about. I began the discussion by asking them the question.. “What is Love?”.. They were smiling when they heard the question and prepared their answers. I asked them one by one and to my surprise one masseur named Randy answered the question as simple as this.. “ for me, Love is Blind, because I am blind…” Everyone was surprised by his answer and that made everyone laugh.

Is love really blind? I think the masseur was just being funny when he answered the question. In my own opinion, love is blind in the sense that, loving is never looking at the imperfections of the person, as the saying goes… “Love covers the many facets of sins…” When we love a person we should love them in spite of their imperfections. We should love the person even if the person doesn’t deserve our love.

Many people out there don’t deserve our love, but we need to be blind by not looking at their imperfections and weaknesses so that we can love them with all of our hearts. It is in this blindness that we can truly see the real essence of love.
