I'm Money Healthy!

Now that I am married, I always make it to the point that me and my husband should not argue about money. I've heard a lot of couples arguing about their finances and this has been the cause of their unhealthy marriages. It's good to know that my money personality is healthy and I am also blessed to have a husband who is so wise in handling his money. Especially that our resources are limited.

"The blessing of the Lord makes a man rich and He adds no trouble to it".
Proverbs 10:22

Your Money Personality is Healthy

You have a good relationship with money.

You don't spend wildly, but you're not opposed to treating yourself on occasion.

In general, you save some of what you earn.

You know the importance of a nest egg.

You aren't afraid of being financially literate - you embrace learning more about finances.

From a retirement plan to having an emergency fund, you know what you need to have to be safe.

Display Those Photos!

When I got married I got a lot of photos printed. I also purchased a lot of photo albums to preserve those photos. After I placed all the photos in the albums, I thought it is now ready for showing it off to my relatives and friends. But I was wrong. The albums were very heavy that I can’t bring all of them. I just invited them to the house if they want to see all my wedding photos, but they don’t have time anymore to come and visit me. Only a few have seen those photos.

As I browse over to the internet, I found this amazing way to display all your photos to everyone. It’s through Digital Photo Frame, a photo frame that scrolls through all of your photos from your digital camera. They look more or less like a traditional picture frame, but use LCD technology to display your digital images. It can display all your photos and you don’t have to choose which photos to display. You can put your memory card straight from your camera into your digital frame. It saves you from spending a lot on prints and photo albums. Sounds wonderful right? I’m excited to try this one.

So what are you waiting for? Visit Digital Photo Frame Central and browse over to the range of digital photo frame of your choice. Don’t hide away your photos in albums, display them using digital photo frame!

Pedicure Day

I always loved to have pedicures as long as my toe nails didn’t get tortured. (Lol!) But I don’t do it often because I’m being practical. I just had my nails cleaned once a month or when my toe nails are really not in good shape anymore. Yesterday was my pedicure day. I didn’t tell my husband that I went to the parlor and had my feet done. When we arrived home, I tried to relax and hang my legs up on the wall. He saw that my toes were glimmering…(lol!) He gave me this remark… “Oh, c’mon… You need not hang your legs up there just to let me know you had your nails done. (LOL!) I told him, I’m not showing off my feet, I’m just tired… and he was laughing.

Digital Show and Tell

I always liked to have multimedia shows especially when I am teaching my students. I love to use it during our show and tell activities, where my students will be amazed of the beauty of everything they see. I could constantly catch my student’s attention when my visual aids are nice and colorful, much more with multimedia shows. Just that it requires skills and a lot of your time to finish it.

Here’s a show from Roxio Extreme Digital Makeover that is dedicated in helping the average Joe get the most out of their digital lives. There’s this one episode I like, “A Walk in the Park” where Zoey and Chris spend the day encouraging people to set free those photos on their cameras and turn those photos into an engaging multimedia story worthy for show and tell with friends and family.

Why don’t you try to watch the show and enter the contest for a chance to be featured on the show or win some prizes.

On Eating Balut and Durian

We were so glad to have some American friends who came to visit us in our church last Monday. We had prepared a dinner for them. It was a nice experience chatting with them, eating with them and sharing some thoughts with them. The main event of that dinner was to let them eat “Balut” and of course our famous fruit “Durian”. After we had the dinner, we told them that we had a surprise for them. They we’re very afraid of what’s the surprise would be. We served them the eggs called “Balut”. We told them that’s it’s an embryo of the duck. One American friend said… “Oh, you’re scaring me!”… and we told them that their visit here in the Philippines would never be complete without eating it. They were very sport enough to try it and they said it taste good. After they tried it, they were wondering why I didn’t eat any. Actually I don’t eat “Balut” because I don’t like the smell. But I just told them that only men like that food. I’m glad they didn’t force me to try it too. After eating the Balut, we told them that the challenge was not yet over. They will have to try this smelly but yummy fruit called “Durian”. As we served them the Durian, they hurriedly asked… “Oh, what’s that smell???” (LOL!) We told them to just cover their nose as they eat it. After they tried it, they were smiling and said it was very good. It’s creamy and sweet. This time, I also ate the Durian even if I don’t like the smell, and I find it very yummy. That was my first time to eat Durian.

I was so happy that they were so kind enough to try that kind of food. As I attended their conference last Tuesday, they couldn’t stop it but shared their stories on eating Balut and Durian. It was truly an unforgettable experience for them.

LASIK Technology

For these past months, I’ve been helping some visually impaired individuals who are working as blind masseurs and I noticed that some of them are not totally blind. Their eyes just need to be corrected but they cannot get any treatment because they can’t afford it. Some would not opt for the treatment because they are afraid of the pain they might experience during the surgery. As I browse over to the internet, I found out LASIK technology. As I read through the LASIK information, I was excited because this might help my friends correct their vision.

LASIK is a permanent solution to reduce dependence on lenses and spectacles. It corrects the refractive imperfections in your eyes. This procedure is painless and it only takes minutes to complete. This procedure has been used by the NASA and U.S. military to improve the vision of these specialized personnel facing extreme physically demanding conditions. This technology worked really well and it has notable results in the military’s evaluation. Around 95% of the 100 military achieved 20/20 vision through the use of modern LASIK, also known as iLASIK. According to Dr. Schallhorn, (a retired U.S. Navy captain) “technologically speaking, there is no better time than now to join the over 12 million Americans who have benefited from LASIK." This procedure is indeed very effective!

I would recommend LASIK to my visually impaired friends. I just hope they can find their benefactor for this treatment. I’m sure this will truly help them change their lifestyle.

Thankful Thursday 2: God's Grace

My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect in weakness...
2 Corinthians 12:9

I thank the Lord for his abounding grace for this week. I am truly thankful for the comfort I have in Him. In this verse (2Cor. 9:12), Paul experienced so much hardship, so much pain and God comforted Him with these words… “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weaknesses…” God’s grace is truly amazing! I thank God for the times that I am made weak, because there I am able to feel his grace that is abounding in my life. I am thankful for every moment that I am inadequate because I know God is there to sustain me. I am thankful for God’s grace because it made me who I am today. My life, my story, my all in all is one hundred percent a result of God’s awesome grace. To God be the Glory!

Awards Time!

I got this award from my sis-in law Cookie. Actually I really did not understand what was written in this award but I guess it' all about giving appreciation to our blogger friends who gave much contribution to the blogging neighborhood. I hope I'm right. (lol!)

Here's how to pass this award:

They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut or that they propagate? Then let's try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.

I want to present this award to my following blogger friends along with the reasons:

1. Lalaine - My aunt. She's the one who introduced blogging to me, and now all we have to talk about is all about blogging. (lol!)

2. Luv - My ever kikay friend. Her post about her little princess in her blog made me smile all the time.

3. Ate Litlit - Very funny and generous ate in the Lord who is also into blogging.

4. Koko - My ever brilliant friend. She has a lot of interesting post in her blog. I hope she will have more time doing some new post.

5. Larade - My blogger friend who has so many blogs and has nice interesting posts.

6-8 - all my blogger friends out there...

Help for the Sales Lady

I was in the mall yesterday to buy something. I wasn’t in a hurry that day. I carefully select every item that I needed to buy. As I approached my way to the counter to pay, I saw two sales ladies at the corner. One is trying to tap the others back. I thought the sales lady was just trying to scratch her friend’s back. But I was wrong. The sales lady was helping her friend get some relief because her friend was not feeling well. As I looked at her friend’s face, it’s beginning to look pale. I got so nervous at that moment and told the sales lady to ask for help. The sales lady shouted “Help! Help! Help! Then her co-workers came and look at their friend who is now pallid and so weak. Because I was so nervous and I wanted to help, I told the sales lady to please get her friend and bring her to the nearest hospital. Good thing, there were lots of nice gentlemen who came and carried the lady out of the mall. I really wanted to help that lady but I am not a medical person. All I did was I uttered a prayer to God to help that lady. How I wish I am a doctor that day, but God reminded me that my prayer was the greatest help I can give to that suffering sales lady. I just hope that the lady is now okay.

The Hidden Piece

Ever since I was a child, my mom would always remind me to wear pleasing Lingerie or as some would call it underwear. She would always tell me that in as much as I give importance to my outside appearance that should also be the case when it comes to giving importance to my undergarments. She would often tell a funny example about it. What if I happened to have an accident and people would find out that I was wearing ripped underwear… what a humiliation! That is why it is always important to wear the best lingerie as possible even if is not intended for showing it off.

Our lingerie is more than just a hidden piece of clothing. It can also change our lifestyle, and how we feel about ourselves. That is why some would opt to wear Designer Lingerie because of the unique style and comfort they get. A lot of designer lingerie is now available online. A great deal of designer brands from the US and internationally, in the UK (Kiki De Montparnasse from NYC, Undrest from LA), are now available at Boudiche. Boudiche has a great selection of pretty, girlie lingerie for D - GG cup sizes. Choose from Freya, Fantasie, Miss Mandalay and some quirky designer brands now going to E / F cup and beyond, including Beau Bra and Fleur T. There’s really a huge selection of the lingerie that you want, starting from designer Bra, Knicker, French Knicker, Basque, Swimwear and etc.

You may try to look at this designer lingerie at Boudiche. Remember your lingerie is not just a hidden piece of clothing. It’s who you are!

Mouth watering isn’t it? This is a Texas Gulf Shrimp (over hominy cakes with heirloom tomato relish drizzled with prickly pear gastrique.) This is a recipe from Chef Mark Holley of Texas and it is a winning recipe for the 2008 Great American Seafood cook off.

I like this recipe because there’s tomato in it. I always love to blend tomatoes in my cooking and it sure adds a pleasing taste to the food. Not only that, it is also good for the body. It has lots of Vitamin C and phytochemicals that helps fight cancer. One thing I also like about this recipe is that it is really a complete healthy meal. It has hominy (dried corn) cakes, which has lots of fibers and a good source for carbohydrates. The thick sauce from the prickly pear makes this dish more appetizing. Another thing that is very interesting about this recipe is that it uses domestic seafood. Meaning to say, the shrimp used here is fresh. It’s really good to use domestic seafood because you can be very sure that it is fresh and you will have the best mouth-watering dish prepared.

I would love to try this recipe for my husband. I’m sure he will love this. As I looked at the recipe, it seems a little bit complex to prepare this dish, but I guess the effort is worth it.

If you’re interested about the recipe, you can download it at http://www.greatamericanseafoodcookoff.com You ca also get a chance to see other winning recipes and vote for the recipe that you like. By voting, you will have a chance to win a trip to New Orleans. Cast your votes now and win! This is one yummy experience to have!
