Lesson 2: Windows Spider Solitaire

My mother in law asked me to teach her how to use the computer. To begin the lesson, I introduced her to the different parts of the computer and taught her how to turn on and off the computer because this is very important and the most basic thing. For this week I taught her how to use the mouse, especially how to drag and drop. To let her get familiar with the lesson on dragging and dropping, I taught her how to play the game Spider Solitaire. This is one of the games I played in the computer when my internet connection is very slow. She really enjoyed playing the game and wanted to play it one more time tonight. It’s good to know that a woman like her is still interested to learn a lot of things.

My husband and I went to Lim Ket Kai Center today because we were invited by our Pastor for a dinner treat at Green Haven Vegetarian Restaurant. It was our first time to be in that restaurant and the experience was nice.

When we are about to go home, we happen to pass by P.Joes Diner. This place was memorable to me because this is where we ate after my graduation in college, that was a long time ago. My boyfriend who is my husband now, was so thoughtful enough to treat me in that restaurant even though he wasn’t still earning that much before. I took a glance at the place and asked my husband, “When are you going to bring me in that place again?” He answered jokingly… “After your next graduation..!” Meaning to say, that was impossible because I’m not schooling anymore. LOL! Anyway, it was nice to be in that place.

Today, November 25, 2008 is my 29th Birthday. I thank the Lord for adding another year in my life. I thank God so much that He is forever faithful. I thank Him for the many things He has done for my life, and I will always be thankful for all the things He is going to do. God is forever FAITHFUL!

Pre-Birthday Treats

I thank God that my birthday this year doesn’t fall on a weekend. What’s good about it was that, I have so many pre-birthday treats from my husband. Excited!

My students are going on a Field Trip tomorrow. We will be visiting the different places in the community and get to know a lot of community helpers. Our first stop would be at the fire department. I am very excited to see their facial expressions when they see a fire truck and even a fire fighter. Our next stop is at the Police Station. I hope the kids will not be afraid of the policemen but they will get inspired to be policemen when they grow up. Our third stop will be at the Post Office and the kids will be mailing Christmas Cards for their parents. Take note, they’re the one who made the cards and I’m sure their parents will like it. Last stop is at Pizza Hut, where they will have the chance to meet a real baker and they will also bake a pizza for themselves.

I can’t wait to see there faces tomorrow….

Missing my Two Brothers

Now that I am married, I don’t have anymore time to get along with my brothers. I remember how fun we were when we were still in grade school. I played boy games with them even if I’m the only girl in the group. My brothers were so funny that you will have no boring moments with them. I missed my younger brother’s jokes and my big brother’s catching laugh. I felt so blessed to have such loving and generous brothers. I missed those moments they treated me like a princess. I missed their kind and loving acts of service. I hope I can be with them on my birthday and will have fun together.

Computer Games for Kids

I can say that my childhood was truly different with the kids now. During my time, we love to roam around the neighborhood, playing hide and seek or just do anything we like. Nowadays, a lot of kids just stay at home. This is because the places are not so safe anymore for kids to play around due to kidnappings, car accidents and etc. That is why our games before were not anymore played by the kids of today.

The kids of this generation are now into computer games. It’s just so amazing that these kids can now manipulate computers at an early age. The games they play looks fun and the kids also looks happy as they plays every game. That is why; no single kid would refuse to have a computer game experience.

Here’s a nice computer game for your kids to play, it’s called the Princess Bride Game. This is from the movie the Princess Bride, and the game’s objective is to help Princess Buttercup and Westley in their journey to live happily ever after. I think this is one good game for your kids to enjoy. It’s also perfect gift for kids this Christmas season.

Just a little reminder, we’ll have to guide our kids in playing computer games. We’ll have to make it sure that they still socialize with other kids and are still doing well in their studies.

Thank God it's Thursday once again and I really waited for this time so that I can post my words of Thanksgiving to the Lord.

I thank the Lord for letting me pass the Licensure Exam for Teachers. I just got the results last Sunday, November 16, 2008 and I was truly happy that God answered my prayer. I prayed before I took the exam and the Lord's message for me was in 2 Corinthians 6:2. I was even more confident that I can truly make it because God assurred me through his words.

Thank you Lord for this blessing that you have given me, thank you also for giving this to me as my birthday gift (my birthday will be next week).

God is so good! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!

Dureza's Prayer

"Bless the President so we will have forbearance, good health, the tolerance to lead this nation up to 2010, and perhaps, who knows, even beyond," he said.

Philippine Press Secretary Jesus G. Dureza said this during his opening prayer in a cabinet meeting. This prayer created a buzz on this week's news headlines and TV programs. They even asked all the cameramen not to release the video file containing the prayer. Why? maybe this prayer has something to do with the issue that the President's is interested in term extension by amending the Constitution.

It's good to know that our leaders pray, but what makes me sad was they were not serious enough with their prayers. Let us not just pray by just merely utterances of the mouth but what is in our hearts and what the Lord's will is.

Let's pray for this nation. Let sincerely cry out to God that the Lord will raise up righteous leaders to lead this nation. Leaders that we will not have personal interest for this nation but his concern is the interest of all people. We might be discouraged with what is happening in the leadership right now but let us be reminded to pray, pray, and pray. That's the best thing we can do.

When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.

Whitewater Rafting Experience

When I was working in the University, my co-workers planned for a year-end outing. They planned to have a whitewater rafting adventure and all were excited to join except me. All gears, equipments and supplies needed for this activity are all prepared. As an asthmatic person, I’m not so excited about having outdoor activities or adventures. I just told them that I can’t join because of my asthma.

The scheduled date for the activity came and all of them went. I just stayed at home and still wondering if they enjoyed the activity. One of my co-worker called me and asked me how am I doing. As I talked to my officemate in the phone I could hear my other co-workers yelling and shouting and sounds like they really had fun. At the back of my mind I said, "Oh, I wish I was there!"

When all are back to work, they couldn’t forget all their exciting moments together. They happily watch all the photos they took and posted it on their friendster account. As I look at their photos, I felt like it’s really fun to go in that kind of adventure. Well, it’s never too late to try; I will have my whitewater rafting experience one of these days.

My Blog's New Look

At last I have found a new template for my blog. I'm still not done yet with the additional renovations for this blog. :) I haven't completed to put all the links of my blogger friends. I'm sleepy now and I hope to finish this blog makeover tomorrow. This template is a bit common, a lot of bloggers are using this already but I still like to use it because it's cute and I like the color combination. Do you like my new template? Paypal Restricted Account

It could happen to you!

Last November 9, I received an email from Paypal with this subject: Notification of Limited Account Access. I was so curious about the mail and as I read through it, I found out that Paypal has restricted my account. They said this is for security reasons. Whaaaat???? I got panicked! So, I called up my cousin who is also into blogging and asked if she had encountered problems like this, but she never did. What I did was, I googled about this matter and found out a lot of sites stating this kind of problem. I was even more worried because their stories were never encouraging, in fact it was horrifying (LOL!) The most frightening story was that, Paypal got all their money. Oh no! I was really very anxious how to fix the problem.

As I log in to my account, I thank God that all my money was there. But the problem was, I couldn’t withdraw, transfer or do any transaction other than receiving money in my account. To fix the problem, they required me to submit my latest Credit Card Statement and Utility Bill which serves as my proof of address. I sent them my CC Statement, but the problem was I don’t have a Utility Bill. They sent me another email with this subject: Request for Additional Information and required me to submit a Bank Statement or a Utility Bill. I have problems with the Bank Statement because I was using my husband’s bank account. Added to that is I can’t provide them with a utility bill. I just sent them a document that shows my address, hoping they will consider it. I was really getting helpless and decided to give up.

I asked God to help me fix this problem. I was really getting hopeless because I can’t provide the documents they require. I told God, Lord all I am holding on today is that, nothing is too difficult for you to do, and I believe that you can solve this very little problem of mine. True enough, this morning I received an email from Paypal with this subject: Your Paypal Account has been Restored. I was so happy that God answered my prayer. I was so happy that Paypal didn't give me a hard time solving this problem. Without much delay, I immediately withdraw all my money. (LOL!) I'm tempted to go shopping now!!!

Wonder Woman

This Wonder Woman Award was given to me by Cookie. Thanks so much for this award.

It’s just so amazing to think that we can do a lot of things at the same time. A wife, a friend, a daughter, a church worker, a teacher, a blogger (lol!) and etc… Even with this so limited time that we have, we can still enjoy doing household chores and a lot of responsibilities. But what’s more amazing is we can still have the time to enjoy and do the things we want. The Lord is so good for giving us so many talents and for filling up our weaknesses and for allowing us to enjoy everything that we do. God’s grace is what makes us able to do all of these things.

I’m giving this award to all these people Lalaine, Janet, Jennifer, Love whom I consider to be wonder women, making most of their time for God their family, their friends and to all the people around.

Organizing My Kitchen

They say that the cleanest part of the house should be the kitchen because this is where we prepare our food. I would definitely agree with this. But in as much as I wanted to make my kitchen clean and organized, the problem of chaos is still there. Because of a messy kitchen I end up taking a lot of time preparing the food, and sometimes I am not anymore motivated to cook because of the clutter.

To make my kitchen neat and tidy, I guess I will need some kitchen stuff to keep all things in proper place. I thing I will need knife storage, because the knives in the kitchen are just placed anywhere. I will also need to have plastic bag holders, because this is one cause of the clutter in the kitchen and I need to get somebody who will repair the cabinets because the doors are not anymore in good condition.

I guess this is all what I need for the moment. I think I will need other stuff after I organized the kitchen. For now, I will just start arranging and placing things in order and throw all those things that are not needed anymore.

Letting Go of My Old Template

Since I have now a new domain, I wanted my blog to have a new look. But I couldn’t let go of my old template. I wanted to have a new template that would still remain the cool mood of my blog. But as of now I have not found any template that fits to the theme of this blog. Anyway, my rounders template is quite old already, so I will just have to let go of this template and find a new one.

To all my blogger friends out there… watch out for my new template. (LOL!) I just hope I can find a good one.

Hillsong Music

When it comes to listening to Christian music, Hillsong Music is one of my favorites. I love listening to their kind of music. I love the way they arranged every song and the lyrics of each songs are written in such a way that you can really talk to God and worship Him with all of your heart. My husband would also join me listening to it and played his guitar around. We always had fun together, me acting as Darlene Zchech (worship leader) and my husband pretending to be Michael Guy Chislett (guitarist).

My husband wanted to be updated of Hillsong’s latest Cd’s or albums. That is why, I always made time to drop by a music shop and try to have a peek of what’s new from Hillsong. But our music shops here in the Philippines had only limited copies of their albums and sometimes new releases of the albums have not arrived yet.

I also made time to visit different sites on the internet. One good site I have visited is musicSHOP. It’s an online store for all music lovers wherein you can get an update on the new releases of the albums of your choice. Before buying a copy of the album you like, you can have a chance to listen to the entire music track through their FREE musicSHOP player. As I browse over to this site, I’ve found Hillsong United 2008. I still don’t have a copy of this album yet and wanted to have one. My New Domain

I’m so happy yesterday that finally Google has fixed the problem with my domain. I purchased this domain last October and as you have read in my previous post, I have encountered the problem “Another blog is hosted in this address”. After so much prayer and communications with Google my domain is now working. Thank God!!! I thought I will just be wasting my $10 for a non working domain.

Thankful Thursday 3

"My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death assail me.
Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me.

I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm."

This verse reminds me that in times of fear, in times of trouble the Lord will be our refuge and we can truly find rest in His presence. He is our place of shelter in times of storm. For this week I came up with this list of things to thank God for:

• I thank the Lord for His presence everyday in my life. I thank Him for every moment that His comfort was upon me. I thank Him for I can always express my heart and my sentiments to Him.
• I thank God for the answered prayers truly He is faithful.
• Thank you Lord for your continued provision. Truly I lack nothing.
• Thank you Lord for renewing my strength day to day.
• I thank the Lord for a family that loves me no matter what.

Thank you Lord for everything. No words could ever express how much I am thankful for all the things you have done in my life.

Finally!... After almost two weeks of waiting and now I’m back to the blogosphere. But I am not so sure if this is for good, because the technician hasn’t come back yet. We just tried it last night and found out that we were already connected. But still the connection is so slow and can’t enjoy visiting some blogs at one time. I hope the technician will come back soon to finalize all the necessary repairs to be made in this connection. To all my blogger friends who tagged me, I’m so sorry that I have missed doing your tags. I will try doing it if I find some time. For now, I will just have to take pleasure in this slow connection, and hope that the connection problem will be fixed soon. What is important now is that I’m back into blogging.

Waiting...

I guess the hardest part in life is to wait. Sometimes we get so impatient in waiting. Lately I had so many things to wait for and sometimes I got annoyed of waiting. What makes me annoyed it's becuase I don't know if these problems are going to be fixed.

1. I have to wait for our broadband connection to be fixed. The technician went to the house twice already, but it seems that they couldn't fix the problem. They promised to come back today... I hope that they will really come back and fix the problem. This has been the reason why I wasn't into blogging for few days. Good thing there's an internet cafe near the house, but it's too noisy coz a lot of kids playing online games... the bad words uttered by these kids makes me more irritated.

2. I have to wait for my domain problem to be fixed. I really don't know what to do about this but I hoping for an email from Goggle.

I may be annoyed or irritated of waiting now, but I think the Lord teaches me to be patient these days. All I can do for now is to wait....
