Goodbye, Globelines Broadband

Posted by Bogie at Tuesday, February 17, 2009
Yesterday, we finally filed a termination of our subscription to Globelines Broadband. It’s almost awhile that we have been experiencing unstable connection. Unstable would mean that the connection was slow or sometimes there was no connection at all. To end our agony with this kind of experience, my husband decided to terminate our account.

My husband wrote a very long letter to Globelines Broadband’s Customer Care, expressing his dismay. At first he was hesitant about his letter because he might be too hard for them, but I told him we are not exaggerating and we are just telling the truth. So, we went to their Business Center and gave the letter to the lady in charge. The lady did really did took the time to read the letter and I noticed a different reaction to her face. Despite that she continued to talk to my husband and told him to just wait for 3-5 days for the request to be approved.

After our transaction in their business center, I immediately asked my husband to go to Smart Wireless Center to inquire of their SmartBro Connection and so we went there. I got a form and still I’m a bit hesitant to apply for it coz, I might be having the same problem again with Globelines.

As of now, I’m using dial-up connection with only 50.6 kbps speed. You know what, we subscribed for 512 kbps with Globelines Broadband but we only got 50-60 kbps most of the time. Meaning to say, it’s almost the same with dial-up connection. (Tsk.tsk.tsk.)

I do hope that the request will be approved soon. My husband is considering another internet provider but we are still soliciting feedback so that we can have if not the best but better internet provider.

First Comment :D

I understand your situation, I recently switch isp from PLDT to Globe. The reason for the switch was that PLDT downgraded their 999 plan from 1 mbps to roughly below 512kbps. Globe broadband offered a 1 mbps plan with landline which was considerably lower than PLDT. I was happy for a while till connection started to be "intermittent" which is a commonly used word in Globe customer service, As of now, my connection turned from intermittent to unusable..
