Beautiful Woman of God

Thanks so much Phebie for giving me this award. What a lovely award!

Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Proverbs 31:30

Beauty recommends none to God, nor is it any proof of wisdom and goodness, but it has deceived many. The fear of God reigning in the heart is the beauty of the soul and it lasts forever. A beautiful woman of God is a woman who can reflect with comfort when she becomes old. A woman who will rejoice in the world to come and she will be a blessing to the people around her.

Im giving this award to Jennifer, Dorinda, and Ate Sarah. Bless your beautiful hearts!

Samaritan's Purse

Yesterday, I received the 105 boxes from Samaritan’s Purse in their program called Operation Christmas Child. The boxes were a gift for the kids that is intended to be given on Christmas but here in the Philippines, the activity is done on February because of shipping matters. I was so excited to see the gifts and thought how the kids would react when they receive their gifts.

Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child is an organization that brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.

The simple shoe boxes brings hope, love and joy to the kids and even transforms the lives of many individuals. God Bless this ministry as they continue to be a blessing to the many kids around the world. Got to go now, I still have to re-count all the boxes and see to it that it reconciles with my list. I’ll update you soon when the kids have already received their gifts.

1000 Cures for Over 200 Ailments

Whenever I feel something bad in my body, may it be a fever or just a cough, I usually try to read this book called the 1000 Cures for Over 200 Ailments. This book belongs to my mother-in law which she purchased through Reader's Digest. I find this book very helpful since it gives you five ways (conventional, homeopathy, traditional Chinese, herbalism and naturopathy) to treat common illnesses so you will be able to pick a remedy that suits you best. This book gives you an easy to follow remedies and it gives you multiple options to treat family ailments. There are also tips as to when to seek a medical professional.

Computer Troubleshooting and Repair

My hubby is learning how to troubleshoot and repair computers. Just recently, he was able to repair my grandmother’s PC which was destroyed due to the flood. Thank God the PC is now in good working condition. He just learned how to troubleshoot by reading books, surfing the net and asking some computer knowledge from his brother in law. He can now troubleshoot computer problems but I can’t say that he is really good at it. But his experience is good enough to help us with our computer problems at home. It is very convenient on our part since we don’t anymore go to a computer repair shop and we will not be spending repair charges.

If you have computer problems and you don’t know how to solve it, Fast-teks, an on-site computer service, offers you Computer Help to solve your problem. Their computer technicians will go directly to your home or office to handle all your computer troubleshooting and repair needs.

Bad Hair Day

My hair is always in its bad shape these days and to solve this dilemma, I want to have a new hair style. I wanted to cut my hair short but I’m afraid of what would be the outcome because I’m used with my long hair. I’m still thinking about what to do with it because I don’t want to regret in the end. Since my face is round, I would opt for a hairstyle that doesn’t emphasize the features of my face. I hope I can find a good stylist and hope to have a new hairstyle this week. I’ll update you with my new look. (LOL!)

China Officials Barred from Sexy Clothes

I was surprised to hear this kind of news that Chinese civil servants have been banned from wearing “sexy” clothes, while male counterparts will not be allowed to grow beards. For ladies they will have to refrain from wearing clothes that bare their backs or are deemed too sexy. Their male colleagues will not be allowed to grow beards, go bare-chested or wear inappropriate shirts. This is for the reason that China wanted to build up a more serious government image. The report said that if officials dress too casually, it will be inharmonious with the atmosphere and professionalism of a government department.

For me, wearing the appropriate clothes in the workplace or wherever you go is very much important. Wearing sexy clothes is never that bad but is should be worn in the right place and at the right time. It’s good that China has implemented this kind of policy in their government officials, its good for the employee as well as for the government. I just hope that the female officials will not be banned from wearing sexy lingerie. (ha.ha.ha.) Just a thought!

The Flying Lizard

I am asthmatic since preschool days and until now I’m still experiencing asthma attacks. The doctor said my asthma is caused by some allergens and respiratory irritants like pollens, dusts, animal fur and etc. It can also be triggered by some food and I must avoid all kinds of yellow foods like squash, mango, pineapple and a lot more. With my condition, I am maintaining two kinds of asthma medications one for the prevention of attacks and the other is a treatment when I already had an attack. These are called bronchodilators.

With the available medication in the market nowadays, the older generation would suggests that I should take the flying lizard syrup so I can be healed with my asthma. I don’t really believe on this because my aunt who also had asthma tried this treatment. We brought her the flying lizard and boil it. After that she had a good dose of the syrup and after a few seconds she vomited and the feeling made her condition much worst. I’m sure I will also have the same experience as her that is why I never tried this kind of medication. As I searched the net, a lot of people also are talking about the flying lizard as an asthma medication, but I don’t know if there’s a scientific explanation on this.

Mobile Buzz

Whenever there’s an important message that needs to be relayed to a lot of people, text messaging or SMS would be the best solution to this kind of problem especially here in the Philippines. This kind of strategy lessens your time and effort to deliver the information and at the same time gives you a great saving on transportation and other expenses. You can be very sure that people are informed at the proper given time because cell phones are with them anytime. Text messaging here in the Philippines is affordable that people would just normally send text messages even if it’s not important. Contests on TV are organized through text messaging since millions are participating on it. That is why most businessmen enhance their business through the use of Mobile Marketing. It’s about creating a buzz about your business on mobile phones through text messaging and SMS. This is an effective way of putting your business to the next level because this will give you the opportunity to communicate with individuals who are interested with your product by giving them the feel of individual treatment by just sending SMS right through their mobile phones. If you want to boost your business using this kind of strategy make sure that its mobile message broadcasting is powered by M3 Mobile Marketing and is capable of sending and receiving millions of messages per day like Pepperjam Mobile.

After the Rain

We’ve experienced weeks of nonstop raining for the past two weeks and I’m thankful to God that today he allowed the sun to shine. When I saw the sun shining so bright, I was excited to do many things. It will be a great week for me to do a lot of catching up with the activities that I missed. I guess I’ll be busy too with my laundry. I have three high mountains of laundry waiting for me. Despite the many chores that I will be doing, I am thankful that the calamity is over. God is faithful!

What's in my Bag?

I was into cleaning and organizing my stuff today and I noticed that my bag which I regularly used is full of trash and unnecessary objects. I usually bring with me a big bag so I can put everything I wanted but the size just makes me put anything into it including garbage. So today, I’m putting away all the trash from my bag. Here’s what I got:
  • Candy wrappers (different kinds),

  • Crumpled tissue papers
  • Scratch papers,
  • Receipts,
  • Raffle tickets,

  • Used phone cards
  • Plastic wrappers
Do you have these things in your bag too? What are other things that's in your bag? I’m glad my bag is now free from all these bits and pieces.

Paypal: How to Add a Bank Account?

Adding a local bank to your PayPal account allows you to conveniently withdraw funds. Although there are other money transfer facilities that will help you withdraw funds from your PayPal account but I find this method very effective, convenient and safe. But before you can withdraw funds you will need to add first a bank account.

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Log-In to your PayPal Account. Click the Profile tab and then click "Add or Edit bank Account.

Step 2: Add your Bank details. For Philippines users, the bank code is a 9-digit number. Kindly refer to the List of Bank Codes. Add the codes and then click "Continue"

*** Please note your first name and surname on your PayPal account must match the name on your bank account. If it does not, your withdrawal request may be rejected by your bank.

Step 3: Review your account information and click "Add Bank Account" to confirm.

Step 4: Confirmation.

Now, you can start to withdraw funds from your PayPal Account.

My Mom is retiring...

Three years from now, my mom will be retiring from her work as a teacher. One of her aims for this year is to live a life free of debts so that she can enjoy all the benefits that she will be receiving when she retires. She is so excited for this moment to come and I hope she will have a nice vacation after her work. She plans to pay off all her loans from GSIS, and Pag-ibig and after that she will have nothing to worry about. But I guess it would require a bigger amount to pay off all her loans especially that she is not earning that much. Most of the public school teachers here in the Philippines are into loans and that includes my mom. I hope she can pursue her aim for this year despite the limited resources that she have. Probably she can opt for a Credit Consolidation so that she will only have one loan to think about and can pay off other loans. Whatever would be the best solution to this, I know that the Lord will help her with her goals for this year. We may have a lot of solutions in mind but it is still God who provides the resources and the things that we need. I know that my mom will have a wonderful retirement because God will be with her in every step of the way.

STILL by: Hillsong

I would like to share a song that truly gives me comfort when times seem low or not favorable. This is one of the songs that encourages me to trust in the Lord at all times no matter what the situation may become. I find this song fitting to me and to the people here in our city, particularly with the calamity we are experiencing right now. I hope you can also find comfort and strength in this song as you face a lot of trials and sufferings in your life.

Restoring Water Damages

After the flood last January 3, 2008, I went to our local water source office to apply for a water connection for our church building construction. I was so shocked to find out that the office was so full that I can hardly enter. I saw a lot people lining up to report cases of water damages in their areas. According to these people the damages did by the flood leave them with no water at all. I guess it will take time for their water connections to be restored since the weather is still no good at this time. They can’t even restore it by themselves because the damages must be repaired by a professional or by our local water source company.

In the US, they have Water Restoration Company who will act immediately to this kind of problems. It is easier for people to report damages because they will just call or visit websites, no need to go to the office anymore. One of the best companies that offer this kind of service is Water Restoration 911. They cater into a lot of water restoration services including Water In Basement, Broken Pipe, Carpet Drying and Fire Water Removal.

I hope we can have this kind of service here in the Philippines so that it will be easy for us to have access on our waters especially during difficult times.

Thankful Thursday 7

"Be still and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in all the earth.
Psalm 46:10

Our city has experienced a calamity last January 3, 2008 where a lot of families lost their homes and their special belongings due to flood. Just last Sunday, another flood came to our city and again thousands were affected. Until now, the rain hasn’t stopped. It just goes out after a minute and then comes back. It’s a heavy rain along with strong winds that I could really hear our roof banging. Calamities like this aren’t such a good experience but I believe that there are still wonderful things to be thankful for. Here’s my thankful list for this week.

  • I thank God for the rain. Rains are designed by God for fruit bearing. I heard a lot of people in our city keep on praying these days that the rain would stop because our city’s drainage system cannot hold large amounts of water. I think the rain that God has given us was not for the plants to grow but for His people to grow in moments like this.

  • I thank God for the help available. Since thousands of families were affected, the President came and gave help to those who have lost their homes. On-going collection of used clothing and other stuff are done by some organizations.

  • I thank God for the safety of family and relatives. I thank God that we only experienced leaking on our roof. We had relatives who were affected by the flood and I thank God for preserving their lives. You might want to see what happened to their house during the flood at Day to Day Miracles.

  • I thank God for He is in control. I thank the Lord for his presence on this calamity. We may not understand His ways but I believe that the Lord is just allowing us to see the works of His hand for our City.

  • Please continue to pray for us! To God Be the glory!
You may join us in thanking God today by visiting Grace Alone.

This is one cool rave clothing and I want to check it out if I can afford it.

Saving for the Rainy Days

I’m not anymore talking about the rain that had happened here in our city. I’m talking about my coin bank and I’m so excited to open it because it’s almost full. Actually it was my hubby who is so diligent to put coins inside it everyday. I sometimes put coins on it when I have extra coins for the day, if none then no savings for the coin bank. We agreed to put all 5 peso and 10 peso coins, but I also put paper bills inside.
I remember before when we were not yet married, I always give my hubby a piggy bank and when it is full he will return it back to me and told me to buy something I want. I started to give him 3 small piggy banks (looks like the three little pigs) and after that a medium size blue plastic piggy bank and a big yellow piggy bank that can be opened through its snout. All these piggy banks were given back to me with full contents, except for the yellow one because it can easily be opened. It is understood that the saving is successful if the piggy bank was returned to me. (LOL!) Because the yellow piggy bank savings wasn’t successful, I decided to give him this time a coin bank that is made of can. One of the things I got from piggy bank savings was a washing machine; this was a savings from the blue piggy bank. I couldn’t remember what I bought with the three little pig’s savings. We’re planning on a better project this time and hope we have big savings this time just from this can coin bank.

This is the big yellow piggy bank :)

This is one of the three little pigs but I couldn't find the other two.

Blame It on the Rain

(Photo Courtesy by :hoo2ya on Flickr)
My husband didn’t have a good sleep last Saturday as the rain was so heavy and it didn’t stopped until last night. Even though the weather was not fine, we still managed to go to church, and were surprised to find out that only a few people went to church. This must be probably due to the heavy rain. As the church service ends, we never missed to pray to ask God to let the rain stop because the drainage here in our city cannot accommodate large amounts of water. I was afraid that there will be another flood that will affect other families. True enough there was another flood here in our city. As we went home, we noticed that the waters on the streets were high and we saw a lot of houses that were submerged with water. When we heard the news we find out that there were areas that experienced landslides and other areas are not accessible due to the floods. I guess the rain has caused a lot of damage in most of the houses here in Cagayan de Oro. Most people have lost their homes and their properties. There house needs to be renovated, including the ceilings, walls, kitchen sinks, toilets and etc. before it can be habitable. Thank God the rain has stopped now but the clouds are still gloomy. I hope this will be over.

Driving 101

Every time we get home, it’s always my task to park the car on the garage as my hubby’s task is to open the gate. Every night this has always been my responsibility so as to practice my driving skills. (LOL!) This is just what I can do for the moment because I still don’t know how to drive and at the same time I still don’t have my driver’s license. I can only drive around the neighborhood with my husband’s guidance but the driving gives my husband a lot of headache and stress. (LOL!) Last night, my husband told me to park the car backwards. I was hesitant to do it, but he assured me that nothing to worry about because he will be there to give the instructions. So I tried! I tried to move backwards… and backwards.. and… I can’t hear my husband’s voice, so I hit the brakes and listened to his commands. He was shouting move to the right, move to the right… but I was moving on the left. He.he.he.. I looked on the side mirror as I moved back but I saw my husband’s face frowning with his hand on his forehead.. (LOL!) I stopped and called my husband to drive. Ha.ha.ha.. I guess I still need more practice. :)

A Girl Scout...

I’m proud to say that I am a member of the Girl Scout of the Philippines. I was an active member when I was still in my grade school and high school days. As a girl scout, I have experienced attending into a lot of jamborees and summer camps where I was able to meet other girl scouts from different schools. The camps are held on different schools and other spacious venue where we can really do a lot of great exciting activities such as egg cooking, knot tying, and fire making contests. Sad to say, I already forgot the knot tying thing. One of the best activities that I like most was the treasure hunting game where we enjoyed roaming around the camp site and look for the stuff that is located on the map given to us.

The camp would be much more exciting if it’s really spacious and has nice facilities like at Camp Kresge. This place is an ideal site for camps and retreats because of the nice facilities they have. The venue has also a lake which is the center to the main living and activity area of the camp. This is great as this might also be a fun way to go around fishing. So If you want to consider having camps on this place, you might want to check out NY Summer Camp schedules to see if your preferred dates are still available.

How to Open a PayPal Account?

I've been asked by this question for quite a few times already from my blogger friends because they want to consider monetizing their blog. Sad to say, I don’t know how to answer them because it was my husband who opened a PayPal account for me. I’ll just give them this answer, “You ask my hubby!” That is why today, I’m making this post so that it will be easy for me to answer them by just giving them this reply… “Just visit my blog!” he.he.he. So, here are the steps to open a PayPal account. (FYI: I asked my husband about this while making this post).

1. Be sure you have a Credit Card or a Debit card.
- If you don't have a Credit Card, you can still opt to use a Debit Card. Here in the Philippines, the most convenient and effective Debit Card we've been using for 3 years now is the Unionbank EOn Visa Electron Card. Just make sure that your debit card has funds of at least 2 dollars to open an account for PayPal.

2. Visit http://www.paypal.com/

3. Click Sign up located below the log in button.

4. Sign up for a Premier Account. Why Premier? So you can have more access in receiving funds.
5. Fill up Information. Please fill up correctly as possible. Your PayPal account name should match to your bank account name. This is also to avoid future problems especially when Paypal tries to freeze your account, just like what they did with mine. Thank God it’s okay now.

6. After you are done, wait for PayPal’s email, RE: ACCOUNT VERIFICATION

7. To verify your account, you need a four digit code which is reflected on your credit card statement or bank account statement. Wait for 3-4 days for your transaction to reflect on your credit card or bank account statement. But here in the Philippines, you cannot have an access on your daily transactions of your credit card. The billing is made monthly. So, if you’re in a hurry, you may call your credit card’s customer service and ask for the 4digit code. Just like what my husband did. For Unionbank EON Account, you can also access your account online and check for the transaction that indicates PAYPAL ****EXPUSE. The asterisk indicates the 4 digits that you will use for verifying your PayPal account. Once you obtain the 4 digit code, log in to your account and enter the 4 digit code to verify your account. Once finish your account is now verified and is usable.

Happy Blogging!

Make Yourself Amazing!

Most women with larger breasts find it a problem to rejuvenate the shape of their breasts after giving birth. Good for me, this will not be a problem for me when I get pregnant and gave birth... I guess you know what I mean. Diet and exercise can help solve the problem but are not always enough. Some women especially who has a lot of money opt for breast uplift surgery. Most of the women here in the Philippines who are mainly celebrities engage into this kind of procedure because it is needed in their field of work and at the same time they feel good about themselves. There are also some who are not celebrities who consider breast uplifts because they want to make themselves beautiful, confident and at the same time make their husband’s proud of them.

Before considering this procedure, be sure you know where to go. A lot of people had major problems on this because they fall into false cosmetic surgeons. The consequence, they had wrong procedures and it even complicates their health. Added to that, it even gave them a much bigger problem. So, if you want to avoid these kind of problems in the future, you might want to try MYA Cosmetics. Cagayan de Oro Flood affects 5000 families

The flood last January 4, 2008 has affected more than 5000 families. Last night as I was watching the news, there were 2 missing and 1 died. The affected families evacuated to the barangay covered courts and chapels. The picture showed a very sad site and my relatives were also affected by it. Good for them God protected them by allowing them to escape from their houses while the flood water is not yet too high. Thanks also to the neighbors who helped them as the managed to get away from their houses.

Despite of this calamity, I'm sure that the Lord is in control in the lives of my relatives and He is also in control in our city. He will allow us to see the works of His hand through this situation.

My cousin made a detailed update on what happened to them as they experienced the flood. You might want to check it out at Day to Day Miracles.

I Found Money!

After suffering from asthma, I decided to clean our room as it was totally messed up. I didn’t just clean the room but also arranged all the clothes in the closet. I put out all the clothes first and sort it one by one. After I’m done with my clothes, I also arranged all my hubby’s clothes. I also took all of his clothes out and viola!!! I found a crispy 500 hundred peso bill under my husband’s clothes. Sometimes we kept our money under our clothes but this time, I think my hubby forget about this bill. I happily told him that I found money under his clothes and he was asking if it was mine or his. I told him that it was his money, but since I’m the one who found it, it is now mine. LOL! My hubby just gave a simple smile and never bothered to argue about that money. Now I’m 500 pesos richer!

Business Opportunity for 2009

Since it’s the beginning of the year, my husband and I planned to have a business of our own. It’s not so big though but just enough for the little capital we have. People now are into a lot of business because their salary in the company would not be enough for the family. We hope to have a good business this year but finding what it is would be the first step in the making. Once we have it, it would be easy now to make some sales lead to make the business more productive.

Talking about sales lead, Lead Dogs is one of the best companies that offer great services on Sales Lead Management. Money on Trash

Do you throw your garbage right away? In my case, I don’t usually throw it away but instead sort it out to make money out of it. I organize all plastics, cans, and jars and sell them. I don’t get a lot of money from it but its good than just throwing it away. I have collected quiet a few garbage already and I’m glad that there’s a garbage buyer who came to our house today. I'm so excited to sell all the garbage I have collected becuase the last time I earned around 400 pesos. Today the garbage buyer took all our garbage but the sad thing I only earn 17 pesos becuase the the buying rate is 50 percent lower than before. The garbage buyer told us that this is due to the dollar rates. Is this true? Anyways, I'm thankful for the few pesos I got from my garbage. :)

My Brothers are Loosing Weight?

I went to visit my mom’s place today and greeted my family a Happy New Year. I was so happy to be with them and made some funny chats. I was surprised to see my two brothers, they were really big and I love to squeeze their fat round faces. I told them to loose some weight and stop eating too much. My older brother said they can’t stop eating because there were plenty of foods available this holiday season. Everywhere you go people would invite you to eat and they can’t refuse. My younger brother has never been thin in his whole life. Ever since he was a child he is already big and fat. He tried exercising but still can’t loose some weight because most of the time he lacks discipline. He even bought with him some videos that would help him to do exercise but they were just seen only once and after that no more. My mom told him that the only way for him to loose weight would be to take a diet pill. I guess this will work but he needs to take safe diet pills. Of course he shouldn’t take this without the doctor’s prescription.

It’s really hard for my two brothers to loose some weight. I hope after the holiday celebrations they will have to work this out seriously.

Happy Thankful Thursday and Happy New Year!

I’ve waited for this moment to come to post about my thankful list for the year 2008. As I have mentioned in my previous post, I realized that there were a lot of things to be thankful for this year 2008. I have many but these are all personal thankful list. So here it is…:)

- I’m thankful that the Lord has been so faithful to me and to my family this 2008. I had a lot of struggles and difficulties but God has helped me to overcome all of those.

Online Friendship

I checked out my profile in one of the social networks and I was glad to find out that a lot of my high school friends were now out of the country and married foreigners. As I look at their photos, I can say that they were happy living their lives in a foreign land. One of my friends told me that she met her husband through the internet. Their friendship started as friends online and they got to communicate through chat. We’ll I guess this is the trend for most people nowadays. If you want to meet friends online, you can join in LDS chat. It’s free and you can have the opportunity to meet thousands of people and have fun knowing them. But if you really want to find the man of your dreams, ask God first and He will lead you to the right one.

Goodbye 2008!

It's time to say goodbye to 2008 and say hello to 2009!

We had our New Year celebration last night. It was full of fun, yet I did not fully enjoy the nights celebration because of my asthma. Despite that, it was a great day to be with my family. Before the midnight comes we watched movies and me and my husband prayed together. I asked him to be the prayer leader since I can't talk much due to my asthma. When my husband began to pray, I realized that there were a lot of things to be thankful for this 2008. Indeed God has continued to be faithful throughout the year and I believe he will always be faithful in the coming years to come.
