The Barge Ride

When I was still 7 years old my mom took me to Camiguin Island to visit her co-teacher there. I was so happy with that trip because I have realized that the world is too big and there are still places I haven’t been into. But there’s one thing I didn’t like about that trip… the barge ride. It is because I was so scared in climbing up that barge as I could see the sea water under. My feet were trembling and I couldn’t anymore move because I was too nervous. My mom told me to move and assured me that I will not fall but still I wasn’t moving. The porter came in and carried me up to the barge. Ha..ha..ha.. The people saw me and they were laughing. I felt so embarrassed at that time and promised never to be scared again. When we went home, we rode a barge again and that time I wasn’t looking down anymore as I climbed up but my feet were still trembling but I made it without the porter carrying me. Anyway, I guess all kids have passed this stage of being too fearful but what is important is we are able to overcome all our fears.

NO SMOKING please...

My hubby and I went to Camiguin last Tuesday and rode a barge to reach to the island. While inside the barge I saw this big sign “NO SMOKING”. I was so happy when I saw the sign because I don’t like to sit with smokers as I am allergic to a cigarette smoke and I’m asthmatic. I was inhaling the fresh air inside the barge because according to my biology teacher, the sea air is good for asthmatic because it’s Saline. After a few minutes, there is this good looking man who came near our sit and took his cigarette out. He was puffing like a dragon beside me and I was annoyed because my nose is getting itchy. I looked at him and he also stared at me. But I pointed my fingers on the “no smoking” sign telling him that what he is doing is not good. He looked closely to the sign and threw away his cigarette and went out. Thank God he knows how to read. (LOL!)

Use Your Credit Card Wisely

It’s very interesting to know that nowadays it’s very easy to apply for a credit card. Credit card companies will just have to call you in the office or at your home to avail of the application. If they can’t reach you at home they use the internet for you to apply credit cards online. The application is very easy and once you’re approved it’s very tempting to go shopping and buying all the stuff that you want. This happened to my co-worker before. She was so happy when she finally received her credit card. After that, she went directly to the mall and bought her favorite signature bag, shoes and clothes for her children. Her expenses amounted to more than 15,000 pesos just for one day. Wow! She amazed me. After one month, she wasn’t able to pay her bills and the credit card company made a decision to suspend her account.

To prevent problems like this to happen, we need to use our credit card wisely. We need time to evaluate our resources and plan the things that we want to purchase. If you want get to know more about credit cards, credit card offers and how to use your credit card wisely, check out yourcreditnetwork.com.

Open Parties

I watched the news this evening and was interested about the topic that said “Beware of Open Parties!” Open parties are organized by high school students, especially to those who belong to the well-off teens. Anyone can join the party as long as they can pay the registration fee. One parent made a very strong statement to all parents to be cautious about open parties that their children are joining into. His son, who happened to have had join one of these open parties went home with lots of lacerations and bruises on his body. She even added that these parties uphold teens to drink excessive liquors and prohibited drugs. The policemen made an investigation about this and they found a lot of liquor bottles used condoms in the area where the party is held.

I hope those teenagers out there would be very careful in choosing the company they want to be with. For the parents, I guess it would be better if we know where our teenagers are and knowing their interest and help them choose better friends.

God Is Good

It’s so wonderful to praise our God by telling words about who He is. One of the most frequent words I utter to God is that He is good. Indeed he is good in every aspect of my life. God is good because he has filled my life with so much blessings that I sometimes felt like I am not worthy of it. God is good because of what He has done in our lives, he died on the cross for our sins and that is one good thing to thank God for.

The photo above is a wall décor intended to inspire and remind others about God. It’s good to have one of this at home. I have one which says, “God is my Rock”… I shall not be shaken. Whenever I see that wall décor, I am reminded that no problem can move me because God is my rock. The wall décor “God is good” is a wonderful thing to decorate in your room where you will always be reminded of God’s goodness. You can buy wall decors like this at greatisthelord.net. They have lots of stuff not just wall decors but also home decor, kid’s décor, musical inspiration and other spiritual and Religious Gifts.

A Glimpse of Camiguin Island, Philippines

I can say that my visit to Camiguin yesterday was only very very short. Imagine, I was there for only two hours and the rest of my time was spent on the barge and on the bus. It was really a rush travel since we are catching up with big time people to sign up the documents. Thank God, hubby has accomplished his mission. The photos below doesn't give you the exact beauty of the Island since I only had time to take pictures at the barge. ha.ha.ha.

Arriving Camiguin Island - I was wondering why the people are in a hurry to go down the barge that is why I stayed behind them but after that I was so shocked when all the porters are coming aggressively, but they were so courteous to say "Excuse Me".

Leaving Camiguin Island - We were so blessed to have arrived at Binoni at about 3:30 pm when the barge is about to give a go signal. When the people saw us, they shouted "hurry up! hurry up! If you missed that barge, you will have to wait by 6:00 pm for the last trip. Thank God we made it.

Approaching Balingoan - I don't know what's the name of this island near Balingoan, but a lot of people visit this place just for an outdoor activity. When you're in the barge and got to see this island that means you are already near Balingoan.

New Internet Provider

Last Monday, I applied for a broadband internet connection at DICITECH a broadband company that is based here in Mindanao. My sister in law has been subscribing to this internet provider for a long time and she hasn’t got any problem with it. If there is, only minor problems but oftentimes the connection is good. One thing that I like with this internet provider is that you can directly report any complaints directly to their office. Unlike with my previous internet provider, complaints will be directed to a call center agent and it will then be forwarded to their business center and this makes the whole process more complicated and time consuming. I have paid all the installation fees already and I will just have to wait after 7 days for the installation to proceed. My hubby is already excited because he hasn’t been using the computer for a week now since there is no internet connection and he don’t want to use my internet access card either. Probably by Tuesday we will have a new broadband internet provider and I hope there will be no problem at this time.

Happy to be Married

When I decided to get married, most of my married friends asked me if I'm really sure with my decision. They told me that it's not easy being married and I will have to go through a lot of adjustments, testings and trials. But when hubby and I had our pre-marital counseling, we were so blessed to have heard our pastor telling us that it's good to be married. He was the first person I've heard with that kind of statement. Becuase of this kind of statement, my mind was conditioned to have a happy marriage. Indeed it's good to be married. It's a good feeling when someone is there to protect you, guide you, support you and love you no matter what. It's true that there will be periods of adjustments but when God is in control of the marriage, no problem can ever take you apart as a couple. I'm not saying that my marriage is perfect but I'm allowing God to take full control of it so that I can have a happy marriage.

Do you want to get to know married people? Check out Married Chat. It's a site for married couple and it's a wonderful opportunity to chat and even meet with different married people and learn from their experiences as a couple.

At Camiguin Provincial Capitol

We're here now at Camiguin Island and as I have said it's not a trip that everyone is excited about. We're here at the Provincial Capitol of Camiguin because hubby was tasked to present an important document to the Governor. While he was there at the Governor's office doing his transactions I was a bit bored waiting for him. I was trying to entertain myself and try to roam around the Capitol. I saw a lady and asked here if there's an internet cafe in the nearest vicinity. I was so surprised that she offered me her computer in the office. I was a bit hesitant but she insisted. I have no choice and use her computer but only less than a minute becuase I'm afraid what will other people in the office think of me.

I went out of her office and as I roamed around I was glad to find out that the Capitol has an internet cafe. Wow... this would mean that I will not be bored anymore. ha.ha.ha. So, that's why I'm here in their internet cafe. Actually it doesn't look like an internet cafe but it looks like an office and guess what, I look like an office worker here... he.he.he..
Anyway, hubby texted that they will go to the Provincial Engineer's office now. So, I will just have to wait for him here. :)

25 Minutes Left

I'm in a hurry now as I only have 25 minutes and 55 seconds left from my dial-up prepaid internet access card. I bought this card last Monday and I'm still using it now. The card is worth 50 pesos equivalent to 10 hours of internet access. I can say that it's worth the money and my expectations. Sometimes the connection gets too slow and it would be best to use it during non-peak hours. Even then, I'm still satisfied and happy with it. Oh, I have to go now... got to load another card.. We're going to Camiguin Islands

My husband was tasked by his boss to go to Camiguin Islands tomorrow and guess what, I will be going with him. (LOL!) It's a business trip but since nobody from his office goes with him, I will be his chaperone for tomorrow. My hubby will go there to send some important documents to the Governor and after the Governor has signed all those documents, we will then have time for a short tour of the island. I'm not anymore ecpecting to tour the whole island as this would be time consuming but being together on a trip is something I'm excited for. God Bless our Trip!!!

Project Your Voice

There will come a time that you will be given the chance to speak in a crowd and the most important thing is that your listeners understand you. I got this tips from a magazine and thought this might help you in the future. This tips is from a speech and language therapist Jayne Comins.

Pronunciation – If your speech isn’t clear, it could be that your jaw is too tense. Practice saying “va va va va in different pitches to open your jaw.
Power – Your vocal cords depend on the air coming up from your lungs. Keep your posture relaxed and try to breathe from the abdomen, not the chest. A jutting chin keeps the larynx high, making yur voice breathy.
Projection – To make your voice louder, practice the popular playground taunt “nyeh-nyeh nyeh nyeh-nyhe.” This raise your tongue and opens spaces in the vocal tract that carry extra sound- think how load a baby can cry.
Pace – Worrying that you’re not keeping your listeners interested can make you speak too quickly. Learn to recognize this and relax.

The Student Driver

When hubby is driving, he would always remind me to observe what he is doing. Sometimes I forgot to do this as my eyes are somewhere else. He keeps on reminding me to observe and imagine the situation as if I’m the one driving. He likes it when I always ask questions about his driving and that would made him think that I’m really observing what he is doing. Later this afternoon, I was a bit silent in the car and never told him that I was observing him. We were trapped in a traffic jam and the road was a bit inclined. I remembered what my driving instructor told me on a situation like this and I was waiting if hubby will do the same thing as my instructor told me. When my hubby started to move the car, I told him he was wrong. He was a bit surprised because he didn’t realize that I was observing him. He just gave me this excuse… I’m on a hurry… LOL!

What is VPN?

A virtual private network (vpn) is a computer network in which some of the links between nodes are carried by open connections or virtual circuits in some larger network (e.g., the Internet) as opposed to running across a single private network. The link-layer protocols of the virtual network are said to be tunneled through the larger network. One common application is secure communications through the public Internet, but a VPN need not have explicit security features, such as authentication or content encryption. VPNs, for example, can be used to separate the traffic of different user communities over an underlying network with strong security features.

VPN service providers may offer best-effort performance, or may have a defined service level agreement (SLA) with their VPN customers. Generally, a VPN has a topology more complex than point-to-point.

A VPN allows computer users to access a network via an IP address other than the one that actually connects their computer to the Internet.

Two Months More...

I’ve been thinking about a personal project from my blog earnings for this year. My aim was to finish the project at least at the end of the year. When hubby and I are talking about it, I was so surprised that I will just have to wait about two months more to buy the item that I want. Wow! God is so good… God is indeed faithful that he continues to bless me with the things I desire. I’m so excited for the next two months to come.

The Artist Club

When I was still working in the University, there is this organization called “Circulo de Arte” (Artist’s Circle). It is a student club for all students interested in any kind of art. Most of the members of this club love painting in different kinds of medium and I would say they were all very talented. Their club’s activities were purely art exhibits in the campus and art workshops for adults and kids. The art workshops are usually conducted during summer where kids from different schools can join and participate in this exciting activity. The exhibits are done twice in a year where different artworks of different members are being displayed. They also had their fund raising activities to raise funds to buy art materials for the club. One of their unique fund raising activities was Henna Tattoo. During that time, Henna Tattoo was so popular among college students. It was popular because it isn’t permanent and students can have the image they want for a week and after that they can erase it. Since, my task is to monitor student club’s activities, I happened to visit them in their activity. The president of the club called me and asked me if I wanted to try the Henna Tattoo. I refused since it doesn’t look good for a University staff having tattoo. But the president insisted and I don’t like to refuse his kind offer. He made a tattoo ring on my thumb with an abstract design. It was so cool to look at and my friends thought it’s permanent. When I went to church on Sunday, I forgot that I had a tattoo ring and the teens in the church were smiling at me because their big sister is trying to be cool.

Anyway, if you’re an artist and loves tattoo you can visit Tattoo Chat Room where you can have the opportunity to meet Tattoo users from around the world. This website is free and is intended for you so that you can find friends whom you can share your interest.

Not Yet Terminated

I called Globelines Broadband’s customer service last Friday and asked about the update of our application to terminate our subscription. The customer representative told me that the application was already reported and it was already noted in their system. But the final termination would depend on the local business center where we filed our application. He added that there will be staff that will come to our house and get all the internet facilities and until then will the termination be final. I got so disappointed since nobody came to our house and nobody from Globe gave us an update about this matter. Anyway, I hope this problem will end the soon so that we can now apply to other internet providers.

Anime Lover

My younger brother loves anime and loves to collect anime movies. Every weekend, he will not go home unless he hasn’t bought an anime DVD. He loves to spend his weekend watching those movies and whenever I have the time I also watched with him. After several moments of watching those anime movies with him I also got addicted to it. I was addicted with Samurai X, One Piece, Naruto and etc. I just couldn’t name the other movies because that was a very long time ago. Sometimes the movies were dubbed in a different language but we still enjoyed watching it. I thought watching those movies are just purely entertainment, but I was wrong. I have learned to become familiar with Japan’s history and as well as it’s places and cities. What a great learning isn’t it? Now that I am married, I don’t often watch anime movies. I only watch if I have the time. But my brother is still watching and collecting this kind of movies.

Are you an anime lover just like my brother? You can browse the internet to find out the latest anime movie or anime collection. You can also have a Free Anime Chat with different people who love anime. It’s good to visit a website where you can meet and chat with people of the same interest as yours.

What?

Since, we don’t have a broadband connection yet, I’m using dial-up connection at home and when I am out, I sometimes go to an internet café. Today, I’m here at the internet café, trying to make an update in my blog and check some emails. I’m not very comfortable here since the place is too crowded and very noisy. The people who keep coming here are people who play online games and most of them are friends and keep yelling at each other. They were laughing and most of the time I could hear some bad words. Oh, my! My ears are aching… I guess I will just have to endure this for a while just to finish some paid writing task… (LOL!)

Payday Loans

Everyone is excited when it’s a Payday. It’s a time where people are thinking on what to buy for their hard earnings. But most of the time people are thinking on paying the bills, buying for the basic needs at home and so on and so forth. Oftentimes, people’s salaries are just not enough for all of these and most of the time they will find a way to make ends meet.

Have you heard about Payday Loans? It’s a loan that provides a person with Cash Advance. It is intended to cover up a person’s expenses until his or her next payday. It is very convenient because it does not require vast requirements. It is also very accessible because you can apply payday loans online. It is different from a regular loan where you will have to wait for days just to get approved, but with this you will immediately receive an approval shortly after you have completed the application process. This is a good opportunity for people who are in need and wanted to get the solution as easy as possible. If you are considering having this kind of loan, you can apply now but just don’t forget to pay for it later.

Goodbye, Globelines Broadband

Yesterday, we finally filed a termination of our subscription to Globelines Broadband. It’s almost awhile that we have been experiencing unstable connection. Unstable would mean that the connection was slow or sometimes there was no connection at all. To end our agony with this kind of experience, my husband decided to terminate our account.

My husband wrote a very long letter to Globelines Broadband’s Customer Care, expressing his dismay. At first he was hesitant about his letter because he might be too hard for them, but I told him we are not exaggerating and we are just telling the truth. So, we went to their Business Center and gave the letter to the lady in charge. The lady did really did took the time to read the letter and I noticed a different reaction to her face. Despite that she continued to talk to my husband and told him to just wait for 3-5 days for the request to be approved.

After our transaction in their business center, I immediately asked my husband to go to Smart Wireless Center to inquire of their SmartBro Connection and so we went there. I got a form and still I’m a bit hesitant to apply for it coz, I might be having the same problem again with Globelines.

As of now, I’m using dial-up connection with only 50.6 kbps speed. You know what, we subscribed for 512 kbps with Globelines Broadband but we only got 50-60 kbps most of the time. Meaning to say, it’s almost the same with dial-up connection. (Tsk.tsk.tsk.)

I do hope that the request will be approved soon. My husband is considering another internet provider but we are still soliciting feedback so that we can have if not the best but better internet provider.

A Unique Marriage Proposal

Every man wanted their wedding proposals to be romantic as well as unique. I’ve read an article in a magazine where the man did his proposal on top of the mountain. Wow! How did he do it? We’ll it’s just simple. He invited her girlfriend to a climbing adventure. It was just an ordinary invitation so that he can surprise her girlfriend later. Climbing wasn’t hard for them because they were both adventurous. After they reached to the top, the man suddenly knelt down and said those precious words “will you marry me?”

I find the proposal very sweet and unique. But I think you can’t take away the risk in this kind of proposal. What I’m afraid of is the threat of possible accidents, and the fear that the engagement ring and other stuff might get lost and that would ruin the whole proposal plan. If you plan to do this in the future, you need to have the right Outdoor Gear to make the proposal work. I’ve heard brands from North Face and Marmot are great for outdoor adventures.

I’m sure you can’t say no to a wedding proposal like this, right? Although it’s a bit risky, I’m sure love will blossom after the hard work of climbing and trying to make the proposal special. Love will surely find a way!

Say "I Love You!"

Those three little words, "I Love You", hold a lot of meaning, but there's more ways to say them than you think. Here are the words I always hear from my hubby. The last one is my favorite. :)

• I'm a better person because of you.
• I'm blessed to have you in my life.
• I'm thankful for you.
• You are my one true love.
• You are precious.
• You bring happiness to rainy days.
• You bring joy to my life.
• You inspire me.
• You motivate me.
• You're the best thing that ever happened to me.

What about you? Do you have other ways of saying those 3 words... Share it please! :)

Planning to Get Fit

Early this afternoon, hubby and I talked about our plan of trying to get fit this year by eating the right kind of food and doing some exercise. He suggested that we should wake up early on a Saturday morning and will do some exercise at the Sports Center. I was so excited and quickly agreed on his plan. Wow! What an exciting activity for both of us. I was then smiling...

Suddenly, my hubby realized that his plan wasn't that easy for him to do.He realized that when we go to a Sports Center, we will have to wear sports attire. So, he said that we'll do the exercise at home. I said, that would not be possible because we have no more motivation to wake up early. He just answered, "Oh that's one thing, I love to wake up late on a Saturday morning." Toink! There goes our plan to get fit. (Lol!)

The Hospital Bill

Three years ago, my mom was advised to be confine in a hospital for 3 to 4 days. She was so hesitant and indecisive to do it because she’s afraid because her money might be not enough to pay the bills in the hospital. But she had no choice but to follow the doctor’s advice because her blood pressure was too high. We stayed for about 4 days in the hospital and my mom did feel better. Even if we stayed there for a rest, mom was still anxious about her hospital bills. The total hospital bill was about 30 thousand pesos. Good thing, mom had her health insurance and we haven’t paid a single centavo from that hospital.

I'm Learning Culinary Arts

The Department of Education has this program called Alternative Learning System (ALS) where it provides access to Education to majority of out of school youth. Good thing they also opened this program to a lot of interested individuals like me. This is free but I’ve paid the amount of P50.00 for the registration and another P50.00 for the stove that we will be using for the entire year. Other expenses would be for the ingredients of the food we will be cooking.
Yesterday was my first day of class. I was so excited and guess what, most of my classmates are older than me. They enrolled themselves in that class because they want to put up a business of their own. Wow! Sounds great! I guess I will also be doing that in the future. But as of now, I’m just happy to apply all my learning at home. Our first lesson was table napkin folding and table skirting. The table napkin folding was a bit easy but the table skirting was a bit tiring. It was so complicated that you will have to put your heart into it. Our lesson for the next meeting is flower arrangement. I guess I will not have a hard time learning this stuff since I have already learned this lesson in high school.

I’m loving this course and I hope I can learn a lot from this. So far so good... (LOL!)

What Happened to Me?

Yesterday, I wasn’t able to join the church activity at 6:00pm coz, I had asthma. I went home directly after attending a whole day seminar as I’m already gasping. When I arrived home, I felt very, very cold and felt like I had fever. I took the thermometer and it read s 37.5 degrees Celsius. Without any doubt I took a Paracetamol to diminish the mild fever. I decided then not to go out tomorrow and will just have to take a rest.

Today my cousin called and reminded me of our activity tomorrow. I told her we’ll meet by 3:00 pm because we will have to make the necessary preparations for the activity. But after lunch, I had LBM. My stomach is really painful and I kept coming back from the toilet. I felt cold and I think I’m having fever again. I called my cousin and informed her that our appointment is cancelled. Good thing, she understands my situation.

I felt very weak right now. I hope I will get better for our school activity tomorrow.

The Exchange of Rings

The exchange of rings was the most unforgettable part that happened on my wedding. It was indeed a very emotional scene where we exchange vows and at the same time exchange rings. I was so touched when my hubby whole heartedly said his part … “I take you Bogie as my wife, with the guidance of our Heavenly Father. I promise to love, to cherish you and have faith in our journey together... Bogie, you are so special to me, for the past 10 years, you have been the most important person in my life and I thanked God so much coz, finally I have you as my wife.” We were both emotional that day including the people who witnessed our wedding.

I’m sure there will be a lot of couple who wants to get married this coming February, the Love Month. Before planning everything, be sure you have planned where to purchase your rings. The wedding ring is said to be a symbol of our endless love for our partners and we will be using it forever. In this case, we need to buy a ring that will truly last. When we first consider buying a wedding ring, we opt for a ring that will rightly suit our budget, and thank God we had selected the best affordable ring. You can check out excellent quality wedding rings online or at your local jewelry shops. When you inquire about it you will be guided as to what ring suits your budget and preference.

My Blog Looks Messy

Whenever I got to use Mozilla Firefox my blog looks like it’s half loaded and it’s kinda messy. So, yesterday I did some revisions in my blog and I even placed the HTML code of the template again because it might be altered due to some codes required to place in my blog. After that I placed the links again from cbox codes, RSS feeds, my blogger friends links and etc…It took me more or less one hour to finish it. As you can see, you can’t see any difference because I really put all things back as it was. After the adjustments I’ve made, I checked my blog using Firefox and it was fine. I was happy to know that my blog is now okay.

Just tonight, I was surprised to find out that my blog looks messy again. Oh no? What shall I do? My blog has no problem when you try to use Explorer in viewing it. I guess I will have to go back to the process again. But maybe I can do it tomorrow coz, I’m very sleepy right now. So, to all my blogger friends out there, please bear with me for the mean time. Just use Explorer so you won’t have any problems reading my posts.

(PS: Please leave a note if it really looks messy using Firefox. I want to make sure coz, might be the problem is with my PC. Thanks !)

Good Fun Games

My hubby is so fond of playing computer games which I find it very complicated and sometimes I get dizzy playing it. That is why I just choose to play simple fun games that will help me get rid of boring moments specifically, when the internet connection gets too slow. One of the best games I love playing is Zuma and Jewel Quest. I find these games really addictive and it’s totally a lot of fun. You can check out to play these games on macgamesandmore. You can also try other good fun games for Mac OS X Computers like Whack the Dead on iPhone games, Adventure chronicles for mac game and The Race on Mac games. This is indeed fun! Isn’t it? One Year!

My blog will be one year old this coming February 14, 2009. I couldn’t forget my very first post which was about being new to blogging and then I followed a post about LOVE because it’s Valentine’s Day. From there, I have learned a lot including joining tags and memes, receiving awards and passing it to other blogger friends, getting familiar with XML and HTML codes, exlinks and blog hopping and a lot more. Six months after, I started monetizing my blog and was happy with the earnings I got from paid reviews. I can’t say that I have earned much from blogging because I only have one blog but I can say that everything was really an added blessing from the Lord. I’m also thankful for my cousin Lalaine who introduced me to blogging. We spend a lot of late night chats just to teach me everything about blogging and I’m thankful for her patience in teaching me. I’m also thankful for all my blogger friends who have been so supportive in giving encouragements, visiting me all the time and leaving some friendship messages on my Cbox. Your visits are truly appreciated.

Now that my blog is one year old, all I can hope for is to have a wonderful blogging experience in the years to come. God Bless my Blog!!! (ha.ha.ha.)
