Home Sweet Home

My high school friend is working as a real estate broker. Last night, we  discussed about purchasing a house thru Pag-ibig Fund. I told her I am not so sure about it because some of the houses they sell are affected by a flood during rainy season. She suggested some nice place to choose from so that I will not experience any problem in the future. She told me that those places that are affected by flood were not properly managed.

Talking about management, it would be better to buy a house that is managed by Real Property Management. This company has managed tens of thousands of properties. They have professional and well trained staff and you can be assured that you will have no problems with your house in the future. This company specializes in the management of single family homes, multi-unit apartment buildings and homeowner’s associations. You may visit their site and contact a representative to find out how this company can help you.

Just Thinking!

I was having some funny thoughts this afternoon about the things I wanted to have. I know these things are still impossible right at this very moment but I know that with God’s nothing is impossible. I will just have to wait for the right time.

I wanted to have a nice comfy bed. Our bed is about to retire. Imagine, this is still the bed of my hubby when they were still kids. I also wanted to have modern Living Room Furniture just like the one I saw on magazines. Another thing is the portable sewing machine which I’ve mentioned on my previous post. I still have a lot of things in my mind… I can’t anymore put them into writing. Anyway, I was just thinking, hoping and praying that God will grant these in His time.

A Birthday Giveaway

My high school friend Sheryl celebrated her birthday today. She invited me and my other high school friends for a dinner. The dinner was awesome! I also had the opportunity to have some chitchats with her co-workers and friends. It was nice being with them especially that they were all Nutrionists and the topic of our conversation was all about food and what’s good for your body and what’s not.

Anyway, talking about the birthday celebration, Sheryl surprised us with her birthday giveaway. It’s a special cloth she personally bought at Baguio. I like the giveaway because it’s unique and I can use it as a special table cloth for side tables.

(L-R: Mariechie, ME, Sheryl and San)

To Sheryl, a blessed happy birthday to you! It is my prayer that God will bless you bountifully and may you finally meet the man God has prepared for you. God bless you and your family! Thank you for the friendship and for this nice birthday giveaway.

Serve Community

We’re currently conducting our VBS and I am so happy that the kids are enjoying the activity. For this year’s VBS, the main focus is all about SERVICE. The kids will be learning about serving family, friends, neighbors, community and Jesus. Today is our 4th day and our lesson is about serving community. I dismissed the class earlier because I wanted the kids to have an application about the lesson they have learned in class. I asked them to find ways how to serve their community. They all agreed to clean the streets next to their houses. So they went home.

After a few minutes, I was thinking if they really did their assignment. So, I went to the area where they were supposed to clean. To my surprise, they were really very serious about what they were doing. Some kids just came from their houses to get some dustpans and brooms. When they saw me, they were shouting my name and were very happy to see me. They even gladly introduced some of their family members.
I am blessed to have the opportunity to be a blessing to these kids. It is my prayer that when they grow up, they will truly become a blessing to their community.

Scrubs: Nurse's Guide to Good Living

Nurses are very important in the health care industry because they do not only offer care and comfort, but they also serve as role models for good health. I think it’s not easy to become a nurse. They have so many duties to attend to. They carry out orders from doctors, they monitor vital signs, read patient’s charts and reports, give medicines, keep a written record of each patient’s progress and a lot of other important tasks. My relatives who were mostly Nurse by profession find their job rewarding, exciting and most of all challenging.

To all Nurses out there here’s an interesting site made specifically for you. It’s called Scrubs, a Nurse’s Guide to Good Living. This is such a wonderful site that talks about a lot of positive things compared to other clinical sites. It features helpful suggestions and ideas to Nurses as well as shares inspiring stories. As a Christian, I find the article on "Praying with a Patient" very informative because some of the Nurses feel very awkward praying with their patients. The article will help Nurses find the role of prayer in a patient's life. This is one of the thoughts I got from the article: ""Prayer is a positive energy directed toward the Source of all Wisdom uttered on our own or another’s behalf. Those who engage in it know its benefits without having to read statistics. Unless it's done with malicious intent, it's never harmful."

You may visit their site and learn more about some helpful information about health, life, beauty and living.

It's almost election time here in the Philippines. The 2010 election would be a crucial time to vote because a lot of Filipinos are now desperate to have the right leader to rule this country.

Some would be presidents are now on TV's trying to make themselves familiar with the Filipino masses. Others are also making moves to start their campaign as early as today.

Some media sites are now into making polls to find out who's the strongest candidate for Philippine President. You can join the poll and vote for your candidate too.

The Blind Masseur

I have a blind masseur friend. She was blind at age 4 because of an illness. She was blessed to have a glimpse of her mother at her childhood years and that was her only remembrance about her mother. Now she’s married to his co-worker who is also a blind masseur. They have a 2 year old little girl who gives joy to them.

While she was massaging my body, she was silent for a moment and suddenly she told me. “Oh, Ate (older sister) You are thin.. I thought you're big."  I was laughing. "Why do you say so?" I asked. She told me that is was because of my voice. LOL! I guess she’s not only giving me a massage but she’s also trying to picture the way I look.

Anyway, it is my prayer that the Lord will bless her in all aspect of her life. Even if her sight is limited I hope she can still find joy and strength in the Lord.

Jump!

Before the jump.... (take note, the water is really deep)

Where are they? Hey don't leave us please....
Finally!!!

During my 2nd water rafting adventure, our guide allowed us to jump from a big rock. I am very much afraid of heights but at the back of my mind I guess it won’t be bad to try it. So I tried. I bravely went up to that big rock and was thinking about my move to jump. As I stand on that rock, I felt like I don’t want to jump anymore. Ha.ha.ha. I watched everyone happily jumped their way down and hoped I can do it too. But I was getting more and more nervous and decided to move to a lower portion of the rock so that it will not be too high when I jump. After a few minutes, I noticed that there were only two people left on that rock. It was only me and my hubby. Everyone shouted at us, Jump!, Jump! and I was shouting too “Mama! Mama! Help!” My hubby encouraged me not to be afraid and he decided to jump first so that he can help me when it’s my time to jump. Our raft is now getting farther and our guide told us to be hurry. I left no choice but to jump. Thank God I made it!

The Levi's Jeans

Two years ago, my cousin gave me her favorite Levi's jeans. She gave it to me because it won’t fit her anymore as she had already gained weight due to pregnancy. I love the jeans and it fits me very well. Many people would compliment that I look good with the jeans. Last month, I wanted to wear again those jeans but sad to say, I can’t close the zipper anymore. Whoah! I have gained so much weight and my tummy is already flabby. What should I do?

I’ve read an article,"Weight Gain is Also Due to Overeating". According to this article, exercise alone as a weight-loss method is particularly ineffective without paying attention to food intake, and increasing activity is not a free pass to ignore eating habits. Honestly, I don’t pay attention to my food intake. What I like to eat, I eat and I don’t care if it has high calories or not. I don’t even give time for exercise. Sometimes, a little bit of exercise could also trigger my asthma and that’s one of the reasons why I dislike exercise.

When can I probably wear those jeans again? I guess I will have to pay attention to my food intake first. I should eat less and what is only necessary. No more junk foods and sodas, I hope... (LOL).

Dizzy

Our internet connection was down today for about an hour. I wanted to post some entries on my other blog but can't do it. I was a bit helpless for awhile and just joined my hubby in playing computer games. He was playing this computer game called "Most Wanted" a car racing game. I was just watching him as he played the game. The game was so fun that as an audience you also felt like you were inside the car. I was so attached to watching the game on the computer when suddenly I felt like dizzy. It feels like riding in a car, experiencing a lot of sudden breaks. What happened to me? LOL!

A Sewing Machine

Aside from blogging and cooking, one of the things that keep me busy is doing crafts. I love doing anything from simple personal things to house decorations. One of these days, I’m planning to have a portable sewing machine. It would be my next project from my blog earnings after the laptop. Actually we do have a vintage sewing machine here in the house but sad to say I don’t know how to use it especially when it comes to hitting the pedals. That is why, I wanted something which I can only do it with just one push of my foot. Anyway, I’m still praying and saving for it. Hope to have my portable sewing machine in God’s perfect time.

Flowers For Mother's Day

Next Sunday, is going to be Mother's day. At Church, we are now planning on some activities to give honor to mothers and one of our plans is to give them some giveaways. I suggested to give them flowers. But this time the flowers are not fresh flowers but it is made of cloth/fabric. So starting last night, I was busy doing the fabric flowers for Mother's Day. I already finished 15 pieces of flowers and hope to add more tonight. I hope the mothers will love this as this is my labor of love to them.
By the way, these flowers are very easy to make and I know some of you knows how to do it. But if you dont know how and wanted to try it out, you can leave a comment and I will teach you.
A Blessed Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!
