Proverbs 23:7

Are you insecure? Do you feel you can't do everything because you're not talented enough? Does anyone let you feel you aren't good enough? Well, it's time to change the way you think about yourself. "All things are possible with God!" May this verse encourage you to become the person that God wants in you.

Happy Word-Filled Wednesday.

A Nice Comfy Bed

My favorite place in the house is the bedroom. It is where I can do everything I want. It's the best place for me to read a good book, to pray and sometimes watch movies. It's also the best place for me to rest especially now that I am having fever.

Anyway, while lying here in my bed I was thinking of having a room makeover. I was thinking of repainting it and re-organizing all my stuff. To make our bedroom more spacious, I think it would be best to replace our old bed with a nice comfy bed like Platform Beds. I saw one of it on the internet and I find it very nice and elegant. Well, this makeover would still be a dream since we still don't have the money yet. I know it will come at the right time.

Yummy Sunday: "Sweet Corn"

It's corn season here in the Philippines. I took this photo during the birthday celebration of our Pastor. This sweet corn saves the day as the rice was half-cooked. So we used this as replacement for the rice. We truly had a great dinner together with this sweet yummy corn.

By the way, my other blog "Perfectly Blended" is the home of this Yummy Sunday meme. Please visit my other blog and join me every Sunday. Thanks!

Visiting Camp Phillips Bukidnon

(Camp Philips ... here we come! The green view is so nice to look at.)

Last July 12, 2009, my relatives and I had the opportunity to visit Camp Phillips, one of the towns in Bukidnon. Camp Phillips is a small town located within one of Del Monte's plantations. It is home to a vast field of pineapples covering around 9000 hectares of land. So every corners of the place is planted with pineapples. A nice view of Mount Apo of Davao can be seen for as long the sky is clear. Oftentimes, you can't see it clearly as it is sometimes foggy.
(Pineapples here, pineapples there... pineapples everywhere!)

The place is relatively cool and moist throughout the year. If ever you have the opportunity to visit this place don't forget to bring your jackets or sweaters with you.I couldn't forget my first visit here, I had difficulty managing my asthma because it was too cold. If you're considering about food, well there's no need to worry because its food are fresh from Del Monte not to mention the fresh and sweet pineapples. I also like their beef and the fresh milks and the chocolate milk.Camp Philips is around 45 minutes away from Cagayan de Oro City. You can ride a Jeepney in going there for 35-40 pesos only. You can also take a van for 50 pesos. Some opt to ride in a Jeepney because it's safer compared to van. According to the people who lived there, drivers of the van drives so fast and this has resulted to a number of van related accidents. But in my own experience, I find the van ride very comfortable. I was just blessed with my travel because the driver was very careful with the way he drives the van. But on our visit last July 12, my hubby allowed me to use the car instead as it is much safer. Thanks to my cousin who availed himself to be our driver for that day.

( posing at the giant pineapple...nice!)

Meet the Parents

We will be having our Family Day activity next week, so I scheduled a meeting for all the PTF Officers today. Meeting parents has always been a struggle for me because I feel a bit intimated about their presence. I’m not comfortable talking to them especially that they are still new to the school and I’m afraid I might say something that they might misunderstand. I also find uncomfortable dealing with parents who are so meticulous or shall I say perfectionist.

Anyway, at exactly 5:30 PM today, all the parents came. They all look happy and excited about the meeting. When we had our discussion, I thank God that everything went on smoothly. No objections, no violent reactions as all the parents agreed on what has been brought about. All of them were very kind and understanding. The discussions and the planning made us all the more excited about the upcoming activity.

God was indeed with us during the meeting. Thank you Lord! It is my prayer that our family day activity will be a success.

Goodbye Playmate!

I’m saying goodbye now to my first cousin who died last Wednesday. He used to be my playmate when we were still in our elementary years. He was also my classmate then during our pre-school days. My brother was his best buddy and we always have fun playing together. I always teased him because he was thumb sucking even when he was already in Grade 3.

By the year 1988, their family transferred to Camp Philips Bukidnon. My brothers and I bid farewell to him and to his siblings that day. It was our first time to say goodbye to our playmate… to our friend… to our dear cousin. Whenever they get the chance to visit us in our place, again we enjoyed each other’s presence, playing together. It was through him and my brother that I learned to play games that were only for boys. When he reached high school he happened to stay at our house because he was studying near to our place. We then seldom bond each other because we now have different interests in life. We only got to bond because we both like rock music. (LOL!.. that was before ) After he graduated, he went back to their place and worked there.

He lived his own life and we never had the opportunity to see each other often. I only have the chance to hear from him through his sister. Recently, I have heard that he was sick and was not feeling any better. When his mother called that they needed help because he can’t breathe, I just felt a deep conviction in my heart to help them. He was brought to the hospital and I visited him while he was still lying at the emergency room. His mom was whispering at him… “Bogie is here…Bogie is here”. I saw him nodding his head but he could not open his eyes maybe because he was not feeling well. I then said goodbye and thought to be back in the morning. At 5:30 AM, I received a phone call from my brother that my cousin has already passed away.

I felt sad that day, but I was all the more sad when I saw her mother crying and didn't know what to do. It’s a very sad thing when someone says “Goodbye”… but it's the reality of life.

To my cousin, my dear friend and my playmate… Goodbye to you and have a wonderful journey with the Lord!

It's Been A Long Time

Hello to all my blogger friends out there :) It's been a long time since I haven't posted anything in this blog. I am already done with my big task and thank God, I was able to do it. Thanks for all the people who have prayed for me.

Actually, I have finished the task earlier just that, I was not able to make updates because my cousin died last Tuesday. We were so busy with the necessary things that needs to be done and yesterday was his burial. (I have a separate post on this).

I'll be updating this blog starting tomorrow and hope I can visit your blogs too. :) God bless you and see you around in the blogosphere!
