"Wait on the Lord"

Psalm 27:14 "Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD"

It may seem an easy thing to wait, but it is one of the postures which a Christian soldier learns not without years of teaching. Marching and quick-marching are much easier to God's warriors than standing still. There are hours of perplexity when the most willing spirit, anxiously desirous to serve the Lord, knows not what part to take. Then what shall it do? Vex itself by despair? Fly back in cowardice, turn to the right hand in fear, or rush forward in presumption? No, but simply wait. Wait in prayer, however. Call upon God, and spread the case before him; tell him your difficulty, and plead his promise of aid. In dilemmas between one duty and another, it is sweet to be humble as a child, and wait with simplicity of soul upon the Lord. It is sure to be well with us when we feel and know our own folly, and are heartily willing to be guided by the will of God. But wait in faith. Express your unstaggering confidence in him; for unfaithful, untrusting waiting, is but an insult to the Lord. Believe that if he keep you tarrying even till midnight, yet he will come at the right time; the vision shall come and shall not tarry. Wait in quiet patience, not rebelling because you are under the affliction, but blessing your God for it. Never murmur against the second cause, as the children of Israel did against Moses; never wish you could go back to the world again, but accept the case as it is, and put it as it stands, simply and with your whole heart, without any self-will, into the hand of your covenant God, saying, "Now, Lord, not my will, but thine be done. I know not what to do; I am brought to extremities, but I will wait until thou shalt cleave the floods, or drive back my foes. I will wait, if thou keep me many a day, for my heart is fixed upon thee alone, O God, and my spirit waiteth for thee in the full conviction that thou wilt yet be my joy and my salvation, my refuge and my strong tower."

One good thing about this company is that they don't require much when you applid for a credit on them. Your personal credit won't be at risk becuase they don't require your Social Security number. Planting Orchids

When I was a little girl, I always noticed my aunt who loves to plant orchids. She is so fond of orchids and she had a collection of different kinds. When I reached high school I also tried to plant orchids as well. But I was so surprised to find out that my orchids died. My aunt told me that the orchids are very sensitive plants. They need to be taken cared well. One of the most important thing I've learned is that orchids don't bloom on very hot environment or where there is direct sunlight.

One of the most common orchid I know is the "Vanda", the one you see on the photo.Their flowers are very beautiful and it can last up to two weeks. My mom in law bought Vanda orchids last week and I'm helping her to make the orchid grow. Sometimes I'm the one watering it if she's not in the house.

You can find nice blooming orchids on places with cold temperature. So, if you plan to plant and grow orchids you know now what to do. :)

Jeremiah 33:3

God said " Call to me and I will answer
and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."

Jeremiah 33:3

Isn't this amazing to know that our God will indeed answer us every time we call to Him. He will not just answer but will allow us to see great and unsearchable things we do not know. I hope this verse will give you encouragement as you face certain difficulties in your life.

Are You Ever Disturbed?

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you.”
John 14:27

There are times when our peace is based upon ignorance, but when we awaken to the facts of life, inner peace is impossible unless it is received from Jesus. When Our Lord speaks peace, He makes peace, His words are ever "spirit and life." Have I ever received what Jesus speaks? "My peace I give unto you" - it is a peace which comes from looking into His face and realizing His undisturbedness.

Are you painfully disturbed just now, distracted by the waves and billows of God's providential permission, and having, as it were, turned over the boulders of your belief, are you still finding no well of peace or joy or comfort; is all barren? Then look up and receive the undisturbedness of the Lord Jesus. Reflected peace is the proof that you are right with God because you are at liberty to turn your mind to Him. If you are not right with God, you can never turn your mind anywhere but on yourself. If you allow anything to hide the face of Jesus Christ from you, you are either disturbed or you have a false security.

Are you looking unto Jesus now, in the immediate matter that is pressing and receiving from Him peace? If so, He will be a gracious benediction of peace in and through you. But if you try to worry it out, you obliterate Him and deserve all you get. We get disturbed because we have not been considering Him. When one confers with Jesus Christ the perplexity goes, because He has no perplexity, and our only concern is to abide in Him. Lay it all out before Him, and in the face of difficulty, bereavement and sorrow, hear Him say, "Let not your heart be troubled."

This is a devotional taken from "My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers. Hope you find this very encouraging, especially to all my friends out there who are disturbed right now with the billows of life. God bless everyone!

Swine Flu

Two months ago, we were very much alarmed with the news that Swine flue or what we call the A(H1N1) virus has penetrated our city. A lot of schools had their classes suspended for 10 days because some of their students were infected with the virus. I was also a bit worried when almost all of our students were absent from class because of fever. Some of them were admitted to the hospital but thank God it wasn't swine flue. So, we also had our classes suspended for 10 days. This time, we are now calm about it because we never heard of any news about it.

I thought the virus was gone, not until I browsed the internet.I have found out that the people in the US are still alarmed about it. Added to that there were projections that swine flu could possible infect 50% of the Americans. The statistic is still unreliable but let's pray that this pandemic will end the soon.

Noise Affects You

Most of the foreigners that visits Asia or the Philippines would be struck with the loud noises in public places. Noise is everywhere from traffic, construction noise and to music from tiny shops and houses. I think the noise in public places is normal here in the Philippines and we are used to it.

When I was on my way home today, I found the City Capitol ground crowded and was too noisy. There was a local band playing music because it’s a pre- City Fiesta activity. The people seemed to enjoy listening to the band and did not care if the music was too loud. When I arrived home, I noticed that one of our neighbors is having a party. They were having fun singing songs through the Videoke. Their noise could be heard around the neighborhood but nobody seemed to care about their noise. In fairness to the group singing, their voice was great! That’s why even if they were noisy I still enjoyed listening to them. I just hope they will stop singing before midnight. LOL!
Anyway, doctors all over Asia are now concerned about our “being used” to the loud noises. The doctors believed that as we are getting used to loud noises our ears could be prone to infection and we are also prone to stress related illnesses. Much more , these noises can impair our child’s ability to concentrate and learn. Oh, I should avoid noisy places to protect ear as well as my health.

Yummy Sunday: Home Made Pizza

I made this home made pizza during our VBS time. It's just a slice bread with spaghetti sauce. I used cheese for the hair and hotdogs for the eyes and lips. After decorating, place all of it in an oven toaster and it's done.

The kids love this so much. You can try this too!

Fun Family Day

Little Evangel Christian School the school I'm working with, had a wonderful Family Day celebration today. I was so happy that all our students together with their family were present during the activity. Most of my Nursery pupils were very excited with their dance presentation. It was their first time to dance and dancing in the stage for the very first time was a great accomplishment for them. The parents were so proud that they can't stop cheering and taking pictures of their kids. The highlight of the activity was the "EATING TIME". This time each families shared food together and had the time to bond each other. The kids had fun with the games too.

I thank God for the fun family day. It is my desire that those parents who joined in our activity today will always remember to spend time with their families.

with the help of Christ

who gives me the strength I need."

Getting Married in Two Weeks

I received a message from my friend today that she will be getting married two weeks from now. I was so surprised with the notice because I wasn’t expecting her to get married soon. She will be wed to an American man and they are now together in San Francisco. Until now she couldn’t believe it that she’s now far from the Philippines, from her parents and far from relatives and friends. But despite that, she is so happy with the wedding plans and she’s now busy preparing for the it especially getting herself fit and sexy before the big day.

Anyway, before she went to San Francisco, she had the opportunity to visit our classmates in high school at Chicago. She was supposed to stay in one of Chicago Hotels or Chicago Apartments but her fiancรฉ refused the offer because they still have to visit one of San Francisco Hotels for their wedding. Wow! She’s truly enjoying life in the foreign land. I hope she will not experience nights of crying because she’s homesick.

I pray that God will bless on her wedding day. I pray that she will be surrounded with a lot of people who will support her as she is adjusting to living a new life and adjusting to a new culture.

PowerPuff Girls

When I was in college I have this friend who was so engrossed with PowerPuff Girls. She loves collecting everything from stickers, pillows, bags and etc. There was one time while eating at McDonalds, the store’s theme for that month was PowerPuff girls and there were a lot of powerpuff stuff inside the stores. She was so happy with the decors and asked one of the store crew to give her one powerpuff poster. The crew was generous and gave it to her. Since I knew that she’s collecting powerpuff stuff I started also liking powerpuff stuff. I have collected a lot of key chains, stickers, posters, stationeries and etc. My brothers were teasing me that I’m like a high school girl but I find them cute especially “Bubbles”. My boyfriend who is my hubby now, also found out that I’m fascinated with powerpuff so during my birthday he gave me a surprise gift. Guess what? It’s a powepuff girl – “Bubbles” stuffed toy.

Look at the photo... Isn’t she cute? Until now, I still like “Bubbles” but I’m not anymore as fascinated as before. In fact, I already left this toy at my mom’s house, hmmm.. I should get it back one of these days. LOL! I was wondering if my friend still likes powerpuff girls. I haven’t seen her for years. Hope she’s living a good life.

My Asthma Medicines

Four years ago my doctor prescribed me two anti-asthma medicines. One of which is used as prevention for possible attacks which is commonly termed as “preventer”. The second medicine is used as a “reliever”, a medicine that is taken when someone is already suffering from an attack. I find the medicines very effective. Before, I usually have frequent asthma attacks that sometimes I am hospitalized. After I have taken these medications I was very much happy because I only have few attacks in a year. Just that the medicines are very expensive. I even compared prices online and I found out that medicines here in the Philippines are more expensive compared to other countries. While comparing prices, I've found out that I can now buy my medicines through an online pharmacy. I like this idea because purchasing online can help me save time, money and energy.

My “preventer” medication is about to end next week and I hope I can find a more affordable medicine online. I am now dependent on my medicines and I can't go anywhere without my medicines around. That's how important these medicines are to me.

MercyMe

We are currently preparing for our church anniversary and I planned to download the song "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe. We love this song so much and we have decided to let our Sunday school children have a dance presentation out of this song and the kids are excited about it.

As I was browsing the internet, I was led into a page where it says something about the MercyMe accident. I was curious about it and read through the news. It happened on a Sunday morning when their bus collided. There were three passengers who died in the accident and none of the MercyMe band members were injured. Anyway, a lot of Christians are calling out to pray for the MercyMe band and their ministry. Pray for those families who suffered their losses. May God continue to encourage them in their time of grief. Hope you can join in prayer too!

Below is the video of the song "I Can Only Imagine".

NFL Season 2009

A month from now, it’s going to be the start of the 2009 NFL Season. I’m sure all of you are excited about it because it’s going to be another great opportunity to watch our favorite players on the game. I’m excited to find out who will excel in this year’s NFL season.

Anyway, for this year’s NFL Season, I would love to watch Adrian Peterson, a running back from the team Minnesota Vikings. One thing I like about him is he’s very passionate about what he is doing. He has a strong determination to really win the game by giving all his best. No wonder, he has won so many awards like the 2007 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, 2008 Pro Bowl winner, 2008 Best Breakthrough Athlete ESPY Award and many more. Peterson is not just an ordinary player, but he possesses a strong combination of speed, strength, agility, size, and vision. Added to that, he has a highly aggressive running style.

What about you? Who do you think will perform in 2009? If you’re not sure about it, you can visit waiverwire.com and sign-up for a free-stimulus package for fantasy football. In this way, you will be updated with the latest rankings, stats, projections and everything else you need to know about football. So what are you waiting for, sign up an account now at WaiverWire.

Mini Pygmy Kittens and Pigs

Look at what science can do nowadays. Scientists in England have developed a study on animals by allowing them to produce smaller breeds. This mini pig was designed by the scientist in order
for kids to enjoy them and give them a cuddle. They really look cute because they are so small that you can barely contain them in your palm. (More photos on this website)

They are now also working on Mini Pygmy Kittens. I'm not into kittens because I'm asthmatic but I still find them cute. What more if if we can see a mini kitten? I'm curious about how small their voice will be.

While writing about this post, I was thinking if the kids will really enjoy cuddling these mini pets. Well, I hope so!

Loving My Husband

The host of Marriage Mondays gave us the freedom to share anything about my marriage. So for this month, I would like to share my experience in the way I treat my husband. I am not a perfect wife but I wanted to share this because I have experienced how God moves in our marriage because I do all these things for my husband. Here are the things I do because I love my husband:

1. Praying for him daily
- I pray for everything I can remember about him. His struggles, work, spiritual journey, and everything I can think of. I pray for his PROTECTION from all forms of temptations, because I strongly believe that no matter how good your husband is, the enemy will not stop working to destroy our husbands as well as our marriages.

2. Doing Deeds of Kindness
- Each morning I always make plans on what good deeds I can do today for my husband and I always make it my aim not to end my day without accomplishing any good deed. Oftentimes I call him in his office and asked how he is doing. Sometimes I surprise him by leaving something in his car. Usually I leave food and he will inform me that he liked it. I also cook his favorite food. Doing small favors and errands and etc.

3. Giving Kind Words
- Whenever he is very tired from work I usually divert our conversation from serious into something light. Sometimes I initiate to make jokes and when situations demand that he needs to be encouraged I don’t hesitate to give him words of encouragement. Appreciating him and the things he does in my life.

Everyday is an opportunity given by God to love our husbands, so let’s make every opportunity to love them while they can still see, feel and appreciate all the things we are doing for them. When we love our husbands I’m sure God is glorified in our lives and He is pleased with what we are doing. How about you? How do you show that you care for your husband?

1st Monday Every Month at Chrysalis
