Yummy Sunday 50: Chicken Adobo

Hello everyone! Thank you for joining Yummy Sunday today. My site Perfectly Blended is okay now and I can now use it for our Yummy Sunday posts on the next Sundays to come. Since, I have promised that we will be meeting here so I placed YS 50 here, but next Sunday we will be back to the HOME of Yummy Sunday - Perfectly Blended.

Anyway, my food photo is a "chicken adobo" which I cooked last April. I intentionally took this photo for my Yummy Sunday post but I already forgot this when I was hospitalized. I cooked this for my cousins and they find it very delicious.

Camera Critters: Monkey in the Cage

This monkey was so happy to see us. He was inside a cage and I guess he's used to seeing a lot of people and also used to receive a lot of food when people came to visit. As you can see, he's standing while holding a piece of biscuit. What a smart critter!

The Taxi Ride

Last Tuesday I went home riding a taxi as it was already late. While inside the taxi, I heard the driver's cellphone ringing. He answered his phone and he was speaking in different Filipino language. Even though it was different I can still understand him a bit. I overhead him talking to a family member. It was already halfway of our trip, he was still talking on his cellphone. I was getting worried because he's driving and he's having a passenger. But it changed my heart because it was an important conversation. Her sister was on the phone informing him that their mother just died and he needs to go home. He was asked why he's not texting and he told his sister that he doesn't have money to buy load. Their conversation lasted for about 5 -10 minutes and he ended up with a very big sigh. I felt pity for him.

When I arrived at my destination, I paid my taxi ride and asked him to keep the change. I told him to buy a load from it so he could contact his family in Bacolod. He was so happy with the small amount I gave. Even though it was just a small amount but it feels so great to bless others.

Yummy Sunday 49: Sunburst Chicken

Hello everyone! I am very sorry to let you know that Yummy Sunday is moved here for the mean time because my Perfectly Blended site is down and I don't know when it will be fixed. I am very much sorry for the inconvenience.

Anyway, here's one of my favorite fried Chicken from Sunburst. Sunburst chicken are yummy and they never fail to provide yummy dishes every time I visit this restaurant. I love their chicken skin menu and my hubby also love their crispy chicken esol. Have you tried this one yet? Well you have to try it because it is indeed delicious.

A Bedroom Showcase

There's a recent raffle contest in one of the malls here in our city. As usual, I joined the contest. What made me more motivated to join the raffle contest was because one of the major prizes is the bedroom showcase. It's not the first prize but I have always wanted to have a new bed and the contest would be a great opportunity for me to own one. There are different kinds of bedroom sets to choose from but I like a wooden bed paired with handcrafted furniture. This type of bed and furniture will not easily wear and is also stable. If ever I will win in that raffle contest, I will surely replace our very old bed. I will also have to replace other furniture as some of it are already broke.

Well..well...well! How much is my chance of winning in that contest? Actually, I only dropped one ticket yet but I will still have to place more probably next week. Hope I will win the bedroom showcase.

18th Birthday

Today is the 18th birthday of my cousin Maris. Before her birthday, she planned about having a grand celebration but after much planning and thinking she decided to have a simple celebration and just save the money that his father gave her. So today, she invited me together with our cousins for a simple dinner. It was a simple dinner but the joy of being together made the occasion grand.

To Maris, a blessed birthday greetings to you! May God continue to bless you in all aspect of your life. Now that you are 18th, make it your goal to always glorify God in your life and you will always be successful in everything that you do.

Making a Birthday Invitation

My niece will be celebrating her 7th birthday tomorrow and she will be having a Hannah Montana Party theme. I visited her today and she gave me her birthday invitation. Her mom wanted to provide a custom printed invitation but she just gave birth this week and roaming around and looking for a shop that makes invitations would be very time consuming for her. So, I offered help and I was the one who made the invitations. I wanted to print the invitations on my printer but it didn't gave me the right color due to insufficient ink. So, I have the invitations printed on a shop that makes nice invitations and custom business cards. Good thing, I find an affordable shop and it really gave me the details of the invitation that I want particularly the color.

I was happy to see my niece so excited about her birthday. When I send this invitation to her mom through email, her mom told me that she had a very big smile and kissed the photo on it. Anyway, I hope I can make more cute invitations soon.

Costumes for Kids

Whenever we had activities in school, the most important thing we need to prepare are the costumes that our students will be using. We see to it that their costumes are attractive as well as it won’t hurt the parent’s pockets. This 27th, we will be having our Nutrition Month celebration and we are now thinking of what could be the kid’s costumes that would fit the said event. The parents are also very excited about it and are now asking about it so that they could prepare for it. We still have to finalize it until tomorrow so that by Monday we can lay down the final costumes for the kids.

As of this moment, I am still browsing for costumes online so that I can get ideas on what the kids should wear.
