What's That Smell?

Last week our classroom had a terrible smell. We couldn't figure out what the smell was and we kept on locating where the smell came from. We find out that the smell came from the ceiling. It was like a dead rat and was already there for days. The smell was really disturbing so my cousin took their virus washer and placed it inside the classroom. A virus washer is a machine that cleans the air protecting people from germs and viruses. If you have no idea what it looks like, it looks similar to a portable dehumidifier. I thought the machine wasn't effective but in just a matter of minutes the bad smell was gone.

Remembering My Previous Job

A few years ago, I was hired for a customer service representative work in one of the local banks here in our city. It was a very exciting job because everyday I got to experience different kinds of people. My job was to educate clients on how to use their ATM cards and what are its benefits.

Even though the job was easy, I realized that I need a lot of patience in this kind of work because people have different levels of understanding. Some people cannot relate to all the things that I am talking about because they haven’t experienced using an automated teller machine or an ATM card either. Other people are in a hurry and they don’t want to listen to my explanations. But despite that, I need to maintain a pleasant look on my face.

I thank God for giving me the opportunity to have that kind of work. I believe that he used that experience to mold me into the person He wants me to be.

No Dial Tone

For the past three weeks we can't use our office telephone because it has no dial tone. One of my co-teacher told me that it has nothing to do with the dial tone because the problem is with the telephone handset. Our students might be playing with it after class that is why it isn't functioning anymore. In order to find out the problem with our office telephone, I brought our telephone handset from home and I find out that our office telephone handset is broken and it also has also no dial tone. I'm planning to replace this old telephone handset with a cordless phone so that children can't play with it anymore. Added to that, I can also monitor phone calls while we are holding our classes. I am not yet sure which type of phone to buy so I guess I will have to read cordless phone reviews so I can be sure with my purchase.

What to Wear?

We will be having our school's Family Day activity this coming Saturday. I'm very excited about it because I've heard that some parents agreed to wear shirts similar to their kids. Other parents also agreed to have a dance presentation. Just this morning they were talking about on what to wear for their dance. I guess one parent thought of bringing women's clothing catalogs in school so everyone can choose about what to wear, but good thing they they agreed to wear simple clothing that would suit all types of body figure. They end their discussion about their costume and they all agreed to wear jeans and yellow tops. I can't wait to see them!

Cooking and Cleaning

I always love to cook but one of the most tiring task in cooking is the cleaning part. When everything else is cooked and done, most of the time I find it tiring to clean all the cookwares and the utensils that I used. But I have no choice but to clean all the mess because rats and cockroaches might enjoy the kitchen. Maybe I need Insinkerator disposals and other new stuff to motivate me to clean the kitchen. Good thing hubby is there to save me in the cleaning job.

Miss Universe 2010 Swimsuit

I was browsing some Ms.Universe photos online and I find all the contestants very pretty and sexy especially in their swimsuit attire. I even saw Ms. Philippines, Venus Raj's photo and guess what? Her waist line is only 22 inches. Well, I'm sure a lot of guys out there are so excited to watch the Ms. Universe pageant night. It will be exciting because the contestants would surely wear sexy costumes. But most of all it will be a night of witnessing great beauties, talents and wits from different parts of the world. I just hope the winner will truly deserve the crown.

Brown Out

Every Sunday we always experience unscheduled brown outs. Most of the time, we find it inconvenient because it hinders us to do the necessary things that needs to be done. Two weeks ago, we planned to have dinner at my sister in law's house. We were excited for the dinner but sad to say, at exactly 6:00 PM there wasn't any electricity at all. We were gathered at the table using candle lights and couldn't clearly see our food. Even though there are rechargeable lamps but it's not so bright compared to using a brinkmann q beam. My niece wasn't affected with the brownout and took her lamp and played with it. I brought a camera and she was posing in front of me even though it was dark. Below is her cute and funny photo.

Our Toyota Tamaraw Fx

This is our Toyota Tamaraw FX. This car has stopped running for three months now. Until now, we haven't have it fixed because it requires a large amount of money just for the repair alone. It's registration is supposed to be renewed last June but because it can't run, we only paid storage fee for it. Our neighbor who works in the car company was the one who helped us arranged our car registration. She even helped us find affordable car insurance from cheap insurance companies. I am so thankful for her. Anyway, I hope we can save up enough money for the repair of this car.

I Deserve It!

Hubby and I had our morning devotion today. We read the book "Night Light" a Devotional for Couples by Dr. James and Shirley Dobson. It was a book given to me by my cousin Lalaine. We go through the topic "I DESERVE IT!". One of the great learnings we had this morning is we oftentimes think of the things we deserve in our marriage. In most cases resentment can build over who works the hardest, who spends more, who is not doing enough and this could lead to anger. But this is not what God wants in our marriages.

As the author states on this book... "Beware of this trap. The minute we begin thinking that we are entitled to more, we've started down the slippery road to selfishness. It can devastate a relationship."

I am thankful that me and my husband don't have this "I Deserve Attitude" in our marriage. But still we prayed to God that he will help us not to entertain these thoughts if ever this kind of situation will come in our marriage.

If you if feel you're experiencing this kind of problem in your marriage ... check your heart today and talk to your spouse and pray about it.

Below are some of the questions you can discuss with your spouse:
  • Do you have the kind of love for your spouse that seeks to serve, not "deserve"?
  • Do you sometimes feel that you're not getting what you deserve in your marriage?
  • Is selfishness a problem in your marriage.
"For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature."- Galatians 5:17

I'm Sick Again!

I'm at home right now resting. Sunday is supposed to be a church day for me but I decided to stay at home because of asthma. I made sure that my body is taking enough rest and medication because I don't want to be admitted in the hospital... again! It's very expensive to pay hospital bills and doctor's fees nowadays. If I have health insurance, I might probably use it for hospitalization but I don't have any. These days, I felt like I'm always experiencing asthma and since this is always happening I guess its time to enroll myself for a health insurance. I have inquired from an insurance company before, but it's quiet expensive. I hope I can find affordable insurance rates just like health insurance in nc .

Anyway, I am thankful to God that I had a good sleep last night. I hope I will feel better soon.

The Big Shirt

Last Monday, I went to the shopping mall and saw a nice men's shirt that is very affordable. I checked on it and thought of buying one for hubby. When I raised the shirt up, I noticed that the size was so big that it could fit twice the size of my hubby's body. But I was not dismayed because the shirt could fit my big fat brother. My brother is so big that he sometimes find it difficult to find big and tall clothing. Good thing I find a nice branded shirt that fits his size. So, without delay I bought the big shirt and gave it to my brother.

Fiesta Sale!

A few weeks from now, it's going to be our city fiesta. There are already a lot of activities lined up including beauty contest, float parade, street dancing and more. One of the things that excite me about the fiesta is the cheap discounts on different shopping malls. You can't only find products with "Best Buy" labels but different shops during this time gave extra discounts up to 50% or more. One of my favorite shoe shop is going to have 80% discount sale on their shoes starting tomorrow. This is truly great! I hope I will have time to visit that store tomorrow.
