Film Showing Postponed

I always enjoy teaching Geography to my Kinder 2 pupils. I love to see their facial expressions every time I introduced something new to them. Last week, our lesson was about the countries of North America focusing on the countries of Greenland and Canada. I've prepared a short clip about Canada so kids would have an idea how Canada would look like. While preparing my laptop and the DLP projector, I noticed that the vga cables wasn't there. I was so so sad because the kids were so excited about it. To solve the problem, I just used photos for our lesson and promised to have the film showing soon.

Everything Computers

Whenever we have computer products to buy, we always inquire at Interpace Gaisano. Usually, my husband browses their online price catalog but sometimes there is a slight difference with the price maybe because of the location. I like to shop in this store because they all have different kinds of computers from a simple laptop to an all-in-one Industrial pc. You can also find a lot of computer parts like the motherboard, sound card, memory card, video card and more. Just recently, I was surprised to see the shop being renovated and with a wider space. It looks more colorful and there are now lots of computers being displayed on their shop.

National Costumes

We had our United Nations Day celebrations last Saturday. I was so glad to see our cute kids wearing different kinds of national costumes. Their parents have truly worked hard to come up with colorful national costumes for their kids. One of the things I love was when these kids learned to greet everyone by saying "hello" in different languages. Some didn't memorized it well but still they all look very cute. Below is one of the photos taken during our activity, they all have colorful costumes isn't it?

Flyers Everywhere

Yesterday was our local elections for Barangay and SK Chairman. Everywhere you go, you could find different flyers of the candidates and some of those were posted on walls and some were hung on trees. Other candidates made specialized flyers that look like business flyers. It's good to have stuff like these during elections because it gives you awareness of whom to vote but most of the time the flyers are just scattered everywhere and the candidates don't bother to clean it after the elections. I just hope that the elected chairman in our Barangay would take the initiative to encourage people to clean the surroundings.

Cute Photo

My family loves this photo of my nephew. This photo was taken last Sunday during our family dinner. His mom wasn't around because she was in Manila at this time. I took this photo while this cute boy was playing. Actually, he was a bit camera shy, but after a few shots he seems to be liking it. I posted this photo on Facebook account and everyone placed all their comments telling me that he's cute. I still have other cute photos of him and I hope to make a personalized postcards with his face on it. I'm sure family and friends will surely love it!

Cheer up little buddy! Your mom will be coming home today!

The Day of the Lord...

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

Sexiest Male and Female Celebrities

A month ago, I saw a show on TV that featured the Philippines sexiest male and female celebrities. The results were based on the votes given by the fans and other individuals and they were all ranked from 1 to 20. I was happy to see my favorite stars who were included on the list. I was also surprised to see a lot of new faces. I actually didn't know their names but I guess they were included on the list because of their beautiful faces as well as their beautiful bodies. The men also showed their masculine side when they walk on the ramp displaying their huge bodies. Some young male stars where asked about their preparations for the show, they said they did a lot of work outs in the gym and of course proper diet. I'm sure they have also used body building supplements like creatine monohydrate, but they just kept it a secret. Anyway, the stars looked good and they truly deserve to be called the Philippine's sexiest celebrities.

Nap Time

At school, we usually give our pre-school students a time to rest. This is what we call nap time. Whenever it is nap time, kids would know that they will have to rest for a while, close their eyes and no more talking.

One time, we let our students take a 15 minute nap. After 15 minutes, I told them to wake up, and one student didn’t bother to get up and his classmates wondered. I called his attention but it seems he couldn’t hear me. I thought he was just acting. So, I went to him and I was so surprised to find out that the little kiddo had fallen asleep. I was laughing and I never bothered to disturbed him while he sleeps.

I wish I can sleep like that child. In just a matter of minutes, he can immediately sleep without using any sleep aids. Not like me, I still have to read books, watch TV or use the laptop just to get myself feel sleepy. But somehow, I am still thankful to God that despite my situation, I can still sleep and enjoy the rest of my activities.

Is Your Colon Clean?

Actually, I am not very sure about my answer to this question. I am not sure whether I have clean colon or not. Most medical experts believe that a person is said to be healthy if his colon is clean. In today's recent advancement in science there are a lot of ways where we can cleanse our colon. You can either cleans your colon by taking pills, herbal products or you can opt for natural colon cleansers. My aunt choose to cleans her colon through the use of enema. She has been doing this for years now and she told me that the enema helped her a lot especially in having regular bowel movement and removing toxics in the body.

I haven't tried cleaning my colon using enema, pills or herbal products. One thing I do is I drink a fiber enriched drink to help me in my bowel movement. So far, it is quiet effective on my body and I am hoping this drink would also help in cleaning my colon.

God Made You Amazing!

Do you believe that God made you amazing? If you are not assured that you are not an amazing person, this poem is for you. This is written by Holley Gerth of incourage.me. Hope this poem will encourage you today.

Has anyone told you lately how amazing you are?

It’s about time you heard it again.
I hear you saying, “Who me?”
I’m saying right back, “Yep, you.”
You…
the one doing your thing,
making your difference,
being a glorious mess
that God can use.
You…
getting back up
when you fall down,
trying again
when it doesn’t work out,
doing the hard, the different, taking those steps of faith.
You…
wonderfully made just like you are,
and on your way to becoming all He made you to be.
I see you squirming in that chair, squinting a little at that screen and thinking,
“That’s for other women but I’m not so sure about me.”
Girl, believe it, receive it, it’s true.
This is for YOU.

Before Going to Bed...

There are many things I do before going to bed. First, I wash my body and make sure I got to wear clean clothes. Part of my washing regime I also wash my face using a mild soap. If I can find some signs of acne growing on my face, I put on acne products to make sure that it won’t grow bigger. If I am in the mood, I put on night creams but this rarely happens. If I get too tired, a simple wash will just do. Brushing my teeth is also a must.

How about you, what do you do before going to bed?

Achooo!

Every time I am exposed to dust, I can’t help myself but sneeze. When I sneeze, I can’t anymore focus on my work and it’s so disturbing. My students would often laugh at me when this happens. What’s more embarrassing is that I sneeze so loudly that it catches everyone’s attention. My husband would tell me that my immune system is too weak that I should not expose myself to dusts and certain allergens. He would remind me to always take a daily multivitamin and a lot of Vitamin C to ensure that I won’t get colds easily. Added to that, I also take anti-allergy medication to prevent myself from sneezing.

What's on Sale?

My friend who is now living in Chicago is now excited in the upcoming Black Friday sale season, the busiest retail shopping day of the year. What excites her is that this will be the day where she will find great deals on the things she likes. According to her, despite the long hours of waiting on queue she won't mind as long as she can buy the things she wants in a very affordable price. I really don't have any idea about the real scenario about Black Friday sale but I can imagine people lining up for hours or the rush and grab scene while inside the store. I wish we have something like this in the Philippines so we can also enjoy great deals.

My friend is now checking on items that are on sale and would probably grab it next month for the biggest sale ever. Hope she will buy something for me.

Leeland - Beautiful Lord

I was listening to this song this morning and I just love it. It reminds me of God's great mercy and love. Hope you like this song too!

When the storm is raging all around me
You are the peace that calms
My troubled sea
And when the cares of this world
Darken my day
You are the light that shines
And shows me the way

Oh, the beauty of Your majesty
On the cross You showed Your love for me!

Beautiful Lord
Awesome and mighty
I'm captured by this love I see
Beautiful Lord
Tender and holy
Your mercy brings me to my knees
It's Your mercy that has made me free
Beautiful Lord

When my sin is all that I can see
Your grace remains the shelter that I seek
And when my weakness is all I can give
Your gentle Spirit gives me strength again
And oh, the beauty of Your majesty
On the cross You showed Your love for me

And I am lifted by Your love to sing!
It's Your mercy that has made me free!

You're beautiful, my Lord
You're beautiful, my Lord

Let's Go To...

I'm excited about my lessons for my students next week. Every Tuesday, we are learning about different countries of the world. Last Tuesday, we have learned about Canada, Greenland, Bahamas, and Jamaica. I used an LCD projector and the kids was so happy to see different pictures of the different countries. They also enjoyed looking at the photos of the different kinds of animals and beautiful landmarks. Whenever I introduce another country, I often tell them "Let's go to...." and they would smile and imagined themselves riding an airplane.

Next week, we will be learning about the countries Mexico and Puerto Rico. I wish I can find photo books that feature beautiful pictures of these countries so I won't be tired of bringing a projector and a lap top to class. If not, I guess I will just have to print photos to make the class more exciting.

Sports Day

We had our Sports Day last month participated by my students and active parents. It was a day filled with so much games and fun. Even though it was a tiring day but I am so happy knowing that everyone had so much fun.

We all had all sorts of games like 50 meter dash run and standing long jump. We didn't play basketball because these kids doesn't know how play this game yet and most of all they don't know How to Dunk. The parents played all the games and they all enjoyed playing badminton.

It was indeed a great event. Everyone had a great time bonding with each other and most of all enjoying the games and prizes. Wohooo!

Happy Teachers' Day!

Today is the Teacher's Day in the Philippines! Most public schools didn't hold classes because their teachers had a special celebration. Some private schools also had special celebrations where teachers are honored.

I am so blessed because my some of my pupils brought me flowers today. One girl approached me this morning and brought a beautiful rose and told me..."Teacher, happy...happy... (she forgot!). She was already a bit shy so I immediately took the flower and hugged her. She smiled. In the afternoon, another student brought me a bouquet of flowers. Others gave special notes that were truly encouraging!

I thank God for the life of these kids. Most of all I am thankful for their thoughtful parents who bought the flowers for us.

Happy Teacher's Day to all the teachers out there! Happy Teacher's Day to my mom too!
