Green Monday: VBS Day

It's summer time and its going to be a start of our VBS (Vacation Bible School) in church. I am very excited about it because kids in my neighborhood are now inquiring about it. A few years ago, we had VBS Launching in our church in order to raise prayer and financial support. Indeed the activity was successful because God was in control and everyone gladly supported the activity.

Below is one of the photos of our VBS Launching Day.

Horseback Riding

Five years ago, I had the opportunity to try the horseback riding event at Eco-Village Gardens of Malasag, Cagayan de Oro City. We went there because it was our school’s field trip and we were surprised to find out that there was a horseback riding adventure in the garden area. Many kids tried the fun adventure. To ensure their safety, the garden custodian allowed them to wear equestrian helmets to serve as their protection. The horse looks so cute, so I also tried the adventure. I was laughing and a bit scared. But when the horse started to move and roam around the garden, I was very happy about it. It felt good even if I was riding under the heat of the sun. I totally had so much fun.

After a year, my family and I went back to the garden. I went immediately to the garden area but sad to say there were no more horses on the ground.

When I Grow Up

During our school’s closing program my students were given the opportunity to tell about their ambition in life. They will say the phrase “When I grow up I want to be a...”. Most of the boys like to be an engineer when they grow up. The girls wanted to become nurses someday. One girl caught everyone’s attention because she wanted to become a super model.

During my graduation in Kinder we also did the same thing. My mother was the one who helped me practice the phrase and all I wanted to be when I grow up is to become a nurse. It is because the nurses before were very sexy and they really look good wearing nurses uniforms. But things change when I was already on the stage. I was thinking about my mom and all I said was “When I grow up, I want to be a teacher”.

True enough I am a teacher now. I find this profession a great opportunity to be a blessing to others especially the younger generation.

Just Asking

My husband is into computers and playing computer games. I asked him if he’s interested of having a ps3 hard drive and he was smiling. Hubby doesn’t have ps3 and he only plays computer games on his PC so he told me he is not thinking about it yet.

I asked him another question…

If somebody would give you a ps3 today, would you accept it? He smiled and again and answered me, “Of course!”

Hubby looked at and asked why I keep on asking him a lot of questions.
“Well, just asking…” I answered.

Floaters and Prescription Eyeglasses

My husband has been experiencing spots, specks or something like clouds on his vision. I told him it happened because he lacks sleep and always stays too long in front of the computer. For one week, he sleeps very early but the problem on his vision still hasn't been resolved. He even had difficulty reading because the specks are totally distracting his vision. While surfing on the internet, I've found out that the spots, specks or cloud like things that are distracting his vision are called Floaters. It’s something you don’t have to be alarmed with but it is always good to have it check with the doctor.

Hubby doesn't like to go to the doctor because waiting on a long queue takes a lot of his time. The funny thing was, he found an old prescription eyeglasses on the cabinet. It was her grandmother’s glasses. He was fitting it on and read a book. He was laughing because he looks weird with the glasses but at the same time he was also surprised that he can see clearly in those. I told him not to use it because it might worsen his eye condition and he will just have to buy one for himself. But he told it’s expensive.

As I try to look around today, most eyeglasses are now very expensive. But while surfing online, I found out that Zenni Optical has remained to offer affordable glasses. They have 6.95 eyeglasses prescription eyeglasses and cheap fashionable eyeglasses that will definitely suit your taste. Added to that, Zenni has great costumer service so you are sure that you are treated with utmost care when you buy your glasses from them. I will let my husband check their site today. Who knows he might find an eyeglasses in there that would help him solve his eye problem.

Our Graduation and Recognition Program for 2011

Today marks the 10th Graduation and Recognition program of the school where I am teaching. I was so happy to see the parent’s very proud seeing their child climbed up the stage and receive their awards and certificates. It was a very tiring day, but my heart was filled with great joy because God was truly in control of the program.

God provided us a very nice and comfortable venue in one of the Christian churches here in CDO. The people in that church did not only offer their place as venue for our program but one of their members has been a blessing to us in making our program run smoothly. I am very thankful for their lives. Thank you Auntie Grace and Junie!

The kids on the other hand were very happy! It was not just a day to receive awards but it was day for showcasing their talents. They were very excited with their dance presentation and always asked if it is already time to dance. The singing of their closing song was one of the funniest because there's one kid who wanted to play with the microphone.. (LOL!) Anyway, the other kids were not distracted though.

I am very thankful for this day. I am very thankful for all the people who helped us especially my cousins, Kizza, LJ and Maris. Thanks also to our church friends Ate Nenette, Honey and Koko. Thank you!

With all the wonderful things happened today, all I can say is that God is so good!

To God Be The Glory!

Certificate of Completion

Tomorrow is going to be our school’s Closing Program. It’s already 1:00 AM but I am still wide awake as I am still preparing the certificates that will be given tomorrow. I was drafting the certificates using MS Word and I was having difficulty because I can’t get the design I wanted. My husband told me to use Microsoft Publisher so it would be easy for me. True enough I was able to finish the layout in just minutes. Since, I am still new with Publisher I asked hubby how to save it coz I might be needing data backup services if I fail. Good thing, he taught me how to do it and it made my work a lot easier. Now I am already in the middle of printing each certificate and hopefully I can finish all of these as soon as possible.

College Intramurals

When I was still in college, my classmates would get excited when it is Intramurals Day. It’s a school event wherein different colleges compete in a variety of dual, individual or team sports. I am not into sports so I am not that excited with it compared to my classmates. I can’t seem to understand their excitement and I thought it’s just a waste of my time.

When I had the chance to work at the University where I graduated, I began to understand my classmates’ excitement about the Intramurals. It’s not just an opportunity for them to showcase their talents in sports but at the same time they get excited to get trophies, medals and of course the colorful and expensive uniform. Coaches from different colleges are also excited to receive coach gifts and awards. Who would not be excited about all these? Even though I am just watching while my classmates play, I too am happy for them.

Just in case you can't open my PERFECTLY BLENDED site, you can leave your links here :)

Hello everyone! I'm so sorry for the late post. We had 13 hours brownout here in our city and thank God the electricity is finally back.

The photo above is KFC's Bacon Twister. This is what I ate during a meeting with a friend a few weeks ago. It was my first time to try this food and I like it. The cheese filling made the food more interesting.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Visiting Dahilayan Bukidnon

Dahilayan is a town located in Manolo Fortich Bukidnon which is 40 kilometers from Cagayan de Oro City. People often visit this place because of the famous Zip Line Adventure as well as the fun and adventure at the Dahilayan Adventure Park. On our visit to Dahilayan, we rented a van from a friend who has rent-a-car services. It was a nice vehicle and we had a very comfortable ride. The driver was also very careful in driving that we don’t worry about car repair or rv repair during our trip.

Dahilayan’s weather is relatively cool and moist throughout the year. So, if you plan to visit this place make sure you have your jackets with you. Sometimes, there are rain showers in the place even if you’re travelling in a sunny weather. The pine trees and the foggy scene were one of the scenes I love most.

We visited Dahilayan Adventure Park and my friends enjoyed the zip line adventure. I myself just watched them as I am afraid of the heights. Even though I was just a mere audience that day, I still enjoyed their adventure. I enjoyed the bonding we had and most of all, I enjoyed the place.

If ever friends will invite me again to this place, I will surely go with them and have fun once again.

Got a New Bag!

My friend Fe came home from Holland and brought me a new bag. Actually, it wasn't just bag but she also gave me cologne and chocolates. But today, I will be showing you the bag she gave me. It is a big black back which truly suits my preference. I like bigger bags because I can place everything I want especially my school stuff. So without delay here's the beautiful bag she gave me.
Thank you very much Fe! God bless you!

Doughnuts

Actually, I'm confused whether these doughnuts are Krispy Creme Doughnuts or Go Nuts Donuts. I'm thinking it's Krispy Creme but hubby told me it's Go Nuts. Oh no! Well, what do you think?
