Kids and Trampolins

Kids are known to be very hyperactive and they love to run around the house. It is their nature to let go of their very high energy by engaging into an activity that would really exhaust them. However, this may pose a danger to them when they will accidentally fall on stairs or bump their head accidentally on the floor. As a parent, you must not stop them from doing this by scolding them or reprimanding their “unruly” behavior. Otherwise, you will alter their normal development which may create problems in the near future. However, it is your responsibility to protect them in every way. One way of doing this is by providing them wholesome activities where they can safely release their energy. One of this is by buying trampolines connecticut where your kids can jump anytime they want to. Just don’t forget to have them wear protective gears when needed.

Leadership Nuggets

We had our church mentoring class this evening and we talked about this compilation of quotations, "Leadership Nuggets. " We were asked to choose two quotations that touched our heart and share our explanation in the small group. We had a wonderful sharing time with our church friends.

These are the quotations:

"CREDIBILITY" is the foundation of leadership. People don't follow your technique. They follow you-your message and your embodiment of that message."
- James M. Kouzes ( Finding Your Leadership Voice)

In order to be a leader, a man must have followers. And to have followers, a man must have their confidence. Hence, the supreme quality for a leader is unquestionably INTEGRITY."
-Dwight D. Eisenhower (former US President)

"The only thing that walks back from the tomb with the mourners and refuses to be buried is the CHARACTER."
- J.R. Miller (The Building of Character)

"Nearly all men can stand adveristy, but if you want to test a man's character, give him POWER."
-Abraham Lincoln (former US President)

"A leader cannot demand what he has not earned. An earned authority in God's economy is based on HUMILITY- a spirit of brokenness before God and man."
- Stacy Rinehart (Upside Down)

"Leaders learn by leading, and they learn best by leading in the face of OBSTACLES. As weather shapes mountains, problems shape leaders.
-Warreb Bennis (Univ. of Southern California Professor)

"CREDIBILITY" is one of the hardest attributes to earn. It's the most fragile of human qualities. It is earned minute by minute, hour by hour, month by month, year by year. But it can be lost in a very short order if not attended to. Leaders are trusted when their deeds and words match."
-Kouzes and Posner (The Leadership Challenge)

"The giants of faith all had one thing in common: neither victory nor success, but PASSION."
-Philip Yancey

"I am far more effective today than ever before because of what I GAVE UP"
- Tom Chappel

"Ministry success is not measured here and now, but in eternity... so always minister with ETERNITY in mind."

"I do nothing on my own... I always do what PLEASES Him."
-Jesus Christ (John 8:28, 29)

Which quotation has touched your heart today? If you are a leader, what areas in your life you need to work on as a leader?

Everyone can learn about a lot of things in Dubai. It is a fine place indeed. And surprisingly, this place is packed with people who literally speak English. Methadone Detox: Does It Really Helps?

These days, one of our society’s problems is drug addiction and one of this is opioid dependency. But with the advent of our modern day technology, methadone detox came about. This is a type of drug that is used to counter all the withdrawal symptoms of an opioid addict. It is cheaper, more accessible, and is governmentally controlled substance found in local clinics. By using this, addicts are able to overcome their withdrawal symptoms. And since this drug has a long duration, unfavorable symptoms can be controlled until the following day just in time for the patient to take the next dose. Methadone is also very effective to manage pain as well. And because it costs less than oxycodone, morphine, or vicodin, a lot of patients who are suffering from severe pain would opt to use this drug. However, there are some issues regarding patients who develop dependence to methadone treatment over time. Hence, heroin addict patients have the tendency to become methadone addicts as well. Dance, Exercise and Play!

Have you heard about Zumba? I've read about it in one of cousin's blogs and got curious about it. Zumba is an exercise program that involves dance and aerobic elements. It includes dance steps like hi-hop, samba, salsa, merengue and many others. I've seen one video of it in Youtube and it looks fun.

Because of its popularity, Zumba Fitness or the zumba playstation was created. It's an exercise game and program for PlayStation 3 that taps into the zumba dance exercise by using playstation move control system. You can now dance, exercise and play at your home via your PS3 or Playstation. I'm sure this is going to be a great experience for all of us!

What Happened to the LCD Projector?

Last May I spent many hours making a video for Mother's Day. I started making the video at 8:00 PM and I slept at around 4:00 AM. I was very excited to surprise the mothers in our church but sad to say, our lcd projector did not work that day. I felt sad because all my hard work was put to waste.

My husband checked on our lcd projector and find out the cause of the problem. It was the bulb and it has to be replaced immediately. The following day, we went around malls and other electronics shops to buy a bulb. We were surprised to find out that the bulb was very expensive and it has to be purchased outside the country. Added to that, we still have to wait a month or two for the product to arrive. We can't wait for that long so we decided to have another option.

Good thing, there are now affordable lcd projectors in the market and we decided to a buy a new one instead of purchasing a bulb which is almost the same as the price of a brand new projector.

List of Confirmation Gift Ideas

Time flies so fast. The baby that you once carry in your arms is now grown up. These are the words I've heard from my friend. Her daughter will be having a confirmation in their Catholic church and she's excited about it. To express her love and support, she's thinking of buying gifts for her daughter. She asked me about and below are some confirmation gift ideas she can consider:

  • Bible with your testimony written on it. This is the best gift that you can give .
  • Albums or picture frames where you can keep the memories of your child’s confirmation.
  • Simple jewelry like bracelet with the date engraved on it.
  • Angel figurines

There are many gift selections that you can find. Just make sure that whatever you decide to buy, it will always remind them of their sacred promise to choose the right in whatever situations they are in.

Paperless World

My mother in law informed me that one of our local bank doesn't need to papers anymore for deposits and other transaction. She was so amazed because she didn't have to write down all her bank transactions but all she needed to do was to put all her transaction in a machine provided in the bank. Since she was not so familiar with the machine, a bank assistant helped her complete the transaction. When I heard about it, I also visited the bank and indeed it was true. I find it very convenient and at the same time very time efficient.

In today’s high tech society, humans are now making every effort to grasp the paperless society in order to save the Earth by preserving more trees that are used for papers. Book lovers for instance are now buying ebook readers and others are into using pc tablets. These gadgets are very handy and very efficient. Eventually these will allow people to limit the use of paper and help save the environment.
