Health Benefits of Fasting

One of the spiritual disciplines I do to strengthen my relationship with God is to do fasting. It is when I do not eat solid food for a specific time of the day and I will just have to drink water to keep my body hydrated.
Many people believed that fasting is only done for spiritual purposes. But not just spiritual, it can also bring many good benefits in our body. Fasting acts as a natural colon cleanser for our body. It is a time of rest for our body’s digestive system. When our digestive system is at rest it can expel any remaining waste matter from our body.
