A few more days and we will say goodbye to another year. The end of the year is a good time to look ahead and draw up a plan for what to do next. But before all the planning, it is always best to end the year with gratitude.
Here are 3 Ways to show Gratitude as you end the year 2019.
1.Let People Know that you Appreciate Them.
Don’t forget to thank the people around you who has made an impact in your life. Your parents, spouse, children or a friend. They need to know that they have been a blessing to you . It doesn’t cost you to appreciate someone. Before the year ends, make a list of people you are thankful for and appreciate them one by one.
2. Write “Thank You” Notes.
Thank you notes might be old fashion for some but gratitude implies action. In today’s time, you can now write “thank you” notes in a more creative way. You can now send digital “thank you” notes, cards or letters. Writing “thank you” notes is not costly at all.
3. Count your Blessings, rather than your Burdens.
Our attitude is greatly influenced by the way we see things. When we focus ourselves on the things we don’t have, we become discouraged and bitter. However, if we look at our blessings as little at may seem, we will begin to realize the need to be thankful. Being thankful is not dependent on our circumstances. Choose to be grateful and look beyond our problems as blessings. Remember, we can be grateful for difficult situations because they serve as learning experiences to teach us important lessons.
What are the blessings you have received this year? You can make a list starting today and I am sure your list will be endless. Don’t forget to give thanks to God for all that He has done this year.
I’d like to end my year 2019 reminding myself with this verse from the Bible:
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psalm 103:2-5
We should not fail to express our gratitude to God who gives us all the benefits especially this year. Many times God uses human benefactors and we should not forget to express our gratitude to them, parents, siblings, friends, employers, strangers, co-workers, fellow believers and others. Always remember, the least that God can give to us is enough. But most of the time, the Lord’s blessings is overflowing.
May you all have blessed New Year ahead!
