Some days are better than others. On those days that go less well, what do you do to make yourself better? Here are 5 things that always makes me feel better.
Writing
Writing does make me feel better. I don’t know about you, but there is something relaxing about writing. When I am feeling down, I just write something that encourages me. This is not a formal writing but just putting my feelings into writing. Sometimes, I take note of the lessons I have learned for the day.
Shopping
There is something about shopping that makes me feel good deep inside. I am not an impulse buyer but whenever I am stressed or having a rough day, a walk inside the mall makes me feel better. Don’t worry, I only buy those things that I can afford. Just a “make good” purchase that don’t hurt my wallet.
Spending Time with My Favorite People
A time with my family, friends and relatives can make me feel good. They help me remind what is important and guide me with the choices in life. A good talk over great food is even more enjoyable.
Listening to Songs that I Love
According to study, listening to music can cause your brain to release dopamine, a feel good chemical. So when I am feeling down, I just listen to the music on my playlist and relax myself.
Spending Time in Prayer
Spending time in prayer strengthens me. It serves a mood boost for me. It calms myself and put me into a “state of peace”.
“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty”. – Psalm 91:1
How about you? What makes you feel better? The next time you are having a bad day, don’t dwell on the negative feeling and find something to do to make yourself better.
