Road trips during this time of pandemic are one of the best activities for relaxation. It’s one of the ways of easing your mind off work and other matters. Not only that, it allows you to appreciate the beauty of nature, specific locations and landmarks as well as enjoy food discoveries. What I also like about road trips is the spontaneity of the travel. I like the idea of not following a specific routine and we can just stop whenever and wherever we want.
Just last month, my husband and I decided to have a road trip around Claveria, a municipality of Misamis Oriental. It’s an hour and a half drive from Cagayan de Oro City. Many people love to drive around this municipality because of its famous scenery and the cool and breezy weather.
At JaCo’s Stopover
Our first stop is at JaCo’s Stopover. It is located at Barangay Luna in Claveria, Misamis Oriental. It is one of the popular stopover along Route 955 (Villanueva-Claveria-Ginoog Road). We arrived at the place at around eight in the morning and we had breakfast. I was the only one who ordered food as my husband is not hungry yet. There are a lot of food choices but I just chose the Longganisa from the Breakfast menu. I have heard that JaCo’s is serving yummy “sikawate” (a choco drink) so I ordered one.
Jacos also serves kakanin like puto, suman, biko and many others. I wanted to order Kuchinta but I don’t like to eat too much when I am traveling. Moreover, you can also find pasalubong food items here. Their one of the best selling products is the Tablea which is good for making sikwate.
The food that I ordered is just okay and the entire place looks very simple. It is just like dining in your garden. However, what you will enjoy is the cool breeze, the peaceful place and the experience of fresh air. A best place for relaxation.
Will I be coming back to this place? Definitely, Yes! I have yet to try their lunch menu and the Kakainin too!
Here’s a short video or our recent visit to JaCo’s.
