New Year

God is for You! ~ Facing Life’s Challenges This 2021

by Bogie January 1, 2021

While everyone is excited to face the new year, we can’t help but be anxious about what is in store for us this 2021. Will it be better or worse than 2020?

Early this morning, I asked God for His word for me this 2021. I happened to read the verse from the Bible in Romans 8:31 and it says.  “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

I find this verse very comforting as I start the new year. I am not very sure about what will happen this 2021. Some would say that days will become more challenging.  However, this word is giving me assurance that there is no need to fear or worry about tomorrow because God is for me.

Even in the Hardest Times

Paul mentioned in Romans 8:35, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

These words are so comforting knowing about the extent of God’s love that he allows nothing to separate us from Him. Many things in life may threaten us this year. Job loss, business closures, financial problems, illnesses, setbacks and a lot of uncertainties. However, these can never triumph over us because God is for us.

God is for you this 2021

I am sure there will  be a lot of good times in 2021, and there will also be challenges. But the good thing is, God will be with us as we go through each challenge. God will never leave us nor forsake us.

As you start the year, let your declaration be like David, “The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1). God is for you this 2021!

There is nothing to fear because God is for us. May you experience a lot of breakthroughs this year! Happy New Year!

The One Thing…

by Bogie January 9, 2020

This is my first blog post for 2020. As it has always been, I always start my year asking direction from God on what to do for the new year.

For this year, the Lord brought me to read this verse in Luke 10: 41- 42 which says,

“Martha, Martha you are worried and troubled about many things. But ONE THING is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

So what is this ONE THING that is only needful?

This one thing is all about my relationship with God. Just like Mary, I also need to choose this good part which is to choose Jesus Christ above anything else. All aspect in my life should yield to Him. My focus for this year is my relationship with God and nothing should divert me from this choice.

My focus for 2020 is choosing God more than anything else and the details is yet to unfold as I spend more time strengthening my relationship with Him.

It is my prayer, that you too will choose God this year. When you choose Him, it will surely not be taken away from you and you will surely have a meaningful year ahead of you.

Thank You 2019!

by Bogie December 28, 2019

A few more days and we will say goodbye to another year. The end of the year is a good time to look ahead and draw up a plan for what to do next. But before all the planning, it is always best to end the year with gratitude.

Here are 3 Ways to show Gratitude as you end the year 2019.

1.Let People Know that you Appreciate Them.

Don’t forget to thank the people around you who has made an impact in your life. Your parents, spouse, children or a friend. They need to know that they have been a blessing to you . It doesn’t cost you to appreciate someone. Before the year ends, make a list of people you are thankful for and appreciate them one by one.

2. Write “Thank You” Notes.

Thank you notes might be old fashion for some but gratitude implies action. In today’s time, you can now write “thank you” notes in a more creative way. You can now send digital “thank you” notes, cards or letters. Writing “thank you” notes is not costly at all.

3. Count your Blessings, rather than your Burdens.

Our attitude is greatly influenced by the way we see things. When we focus ourselves on the things we don’t have, we become discouraged and bitter. However, if we look at our blessings as little at may seem, we will begin to realize the need to be thankful. Being thankful is not dependent on our circumstances. Choose to be grateful and look beyond our problems as blessings. Remember, we can be grateful for difficult situations because they serve as learning experiences to teach us important lessons.

What are the blessings you have received this year? You can make a list starting today and I am sure your list will be endless. Don’t forget to give thanks to God for all that He has done this year.

I’d like to end my year 2019 reminding myself with this verse from the Bible:

Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalm 103:2-5

We should not fail to express our gratitude to God who gives us all the benefits especially this year. Many times God uses human benefactors and we should not forget to express our gratitude to them, parents, siblings, friends, employers, strangers, co-workers, fellow believers and others. Always remember, the least that God can give to us is enough. But most of the time, the Lord’s blessings is overflowing.

May you all have blessed New Year ahead!
