The first time I joined essay writing contests was when I was in Grade six. It was a city wide contest wherein I competed with all grade school students in Cagayan de Oro. I wasn’t that confident to join in that contest, but thank God I won 3rd place. That was the start of my love for joining essay writing contests.
In today’s times, I am not sure if there are still essay writing contests done in schools. As far as I know, people can now easily avail of essay writing services online. Through these, people can now buy essay or just request for editing an essay. This is helpful for people who don’t have the time to write as well as to people who don’t have the talent to write a good essay. But if you have it all, the time and the talent then you can do your own essay.
Back to essay writing contests… I still would love to join one in the future. Although I don’t consider myself as a good writer, but I think it will be a good opportunity for me to improve my writing skills as well as to be given a chance to win wonderful prizes.
