Toyota HEV Campus Tour goes to Xavier Ateneo!

Toyota Motor Philippines partners with Xavier Ateneo in Cagayan de Oro City for its HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicles) Campus Tour 2020 event.

An educational seminar was conducted at the Grand Caprice Limketkai last February 21, 2020,  where Engineering students and faculty members were educated on the beneficial effects of Toyota hybrid technology on the environment. The talk was led by Mr. Ritsmond Kalambacal, one of Toyota’s hybrid technology expert. Questions regarding sales and car pricing were answered by Ms. Elijah Sue C. Marcial, Toyota Motor Philippines VP for Marketing Services Department.

My takeaway from the seminar:

  • Toyota HEV are self-charging cars and you don’t need to charge them or need a charging station in order for it to function. It uses both a gasoline engine and an electric motor.
  • The Hybrid Electric Vehicles are all fuel efficient cars which is most likely to have fuel consumption similar to that of a motorcycle.
  • Toyota’s HEV are more environment friendly and they make very little noise compared to a gasoline or diesel engine.

Participants from the seminar particularly students from Xavier Ateneo were given the chance to test drive the recently launched, all-new Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid and the Toyota Prius C

The HEV Campus Tour is part of Toyota’s aim in eliminating the carbon emissions by the next three decades through providing energy efficient and environment friendly automotive technology.
